It won't be as simple as we think. Sukuna is still Sukuna and he wants to figure out the Domain, like the jujutsu nerd he is.
As you said, he has domain counter measures ready. However, since he is in his Yujikuna form he only has two arms so it'll be hard to do both offense and defense here
Alot of meanings in this chapter depending on how it's interpreted

When gege wants to actually cook and not rush every plotline it's great for the story
:shocking:

[to kill]
Inserting fanfic into a translation, sad!
Well i'll take a person who knows japanese over you who regurgitates fan translation lol

And the [to kill] part comes from the previous statement made by sukuna in the damn panel you posted

He is referring to the action of killing when he mentions kugisaki too. Cause it's a continuation of the same thought process from sukuna.

It's lost in english cause you can't really translate nuances in different languages like that.

:bamathink: I mean, one was Todo being Todo and the other was some kind ofactual sibling revelation but you do have a pointthat they are some weird precedents.

The implication so far is that the sure hit will be a cut to the union between Sukuna and Megumi. That's lethal on its own, Sukuna currently needs a body to exist. But that's predictable (and even hinted at last week) so I wouldn't be mad if it's another curveball from Gege and there's more to the domain.
When the merger became a thing and Sukuna took over Megumi's body, there was a theory that they would get separated but Sukuna would summon the merger as his last hoorah in Megumi's body and then try to take over the merger

It would be ironic if that happened and the merger just totally absorbed him, not leaving a trace of him. Kind of like squeezing the CE and techniques out of him and deleting the rest.

Trying hard to find translations that fit your idea of a character is cringe. We all know what he said, and a cannibal serial killer being a pedophilic rapist isnโ€™t that huge of a reach

you stan a pedo, live with it
If sukuna was that he wouldve had kids which gege said he has none
He wasnt even atracted to yorozu

Forget all my yapping about JJK going downhill he cooked. He can kill Suckuna rn??? Fucking JUNPEI???

Also I might be thinking a little bit out of the box here but isn't Sukuna already in Yuji's Domain, so basically already under his spell? Like part of the sure hit has already activated? I feel like Sukuna would have attempted to cut Yuji's head open if he could have. It reminds me of when Sukuna was in Yuji's body and he had his own little mind space separate from Yuji's mind. And when he initiated that binding vow and he just cut him to pieces. Who says they're gonna fight? It's possible Yuji already has a gun to the back of Sukuna's head rn and he has no idea.

I wonder how Yuji's domain made him look like that. He doesn't even look like Sukumegumi, which would be more inderstandable.

It's an oddly specific nerf that would only affect Sukuna and nobody else Yuji used his DE on.
I guess Sukuna's current look is mostly symbolical. Basically, Yuji somehow already got the full control over him.
And tbh, if I was Yuji, I'd totally force Sukuna to listen my boring puproseless memories (all of them!) in my own body too just to troll him the harder I can before going for the fatal blow.

Now concerning his DE's effects I disagree. As I get it, Yuji's DE is comparable to Higuruma's, the massive difference being that Yuji's the one deciding the sentence (life/death). In other words, Yuji's a benevolent god now. Benevolent yes, but still a god.

Just one last question, since we're both online:
Do you think the merger happens?
And if yes, how?
I still think that Yuji could be the actual merger's vessel (not a prediction but a consistent theory imo).
I know he said it wasn't, but he told so many lies to mislead ppl so, who knows...

If we look the big picture back, Yuji's clearly appears to be Kenjaku's masterpiece and pbbly his only goal too.

I wonder if the later wasn't just about defeating the great King of curses Sukuna for good and make something "new" out of his huge potential.

In this purpose, he could have made Yuji as the catalyst/catalyzer of Sukuna's bottomless raw power in order to create a sort of living god. Which is basically the dream of all (mad) scientists after all. What's the better way to mimic a god than creating one?

So the actual merger would be the merging of Sukuna (the Yin) and Yuji (the Yang), and the result of it a sort of perfect being transcending evil and good.

A living god.

Or not at all.

The issue I have with the merger as a concept, and it becomes more and more evident after every chapter, is the fact that the good guys are running on fumes and are decimated as a fighting force.

The merger is the amalgamation of Japan's cursed energy, something of an unprecedented level. Way above even Sukuna, who the gang barely managed to get to his knees.

How do they deal with it?
Maybe that foreign invasion plotline will make a comeback and the UN will just cluster nuke Japan along with the merger

This is assuming Kenjaku told the truth about his merger's plan.

My premise being that he didn't.

Unless Gege lied about ending JJK this year, I don't see the point to bring an even more powerful antag than Sukuna at the very end of the story.

Just one last question, since we're both online:
Do you think the merger happens?
And if yes, how?
Sorry, I wasn't.

I believe the merger must 100% happen. It's not a perfect parallel because this has taken so freaking long and we have already had a major villain in Sukuna (and technically Kenjaku), but this would be like Babidi failing to resurrect Buu. The author "can't" promise an entity like this in a shonen and after all this work ending things in the heroes preventing it.

As to how, I don't know, Sukuna has a literal trigger for it, right? Then I think either Sukuna or Megumi can trigger it. The later might happen, turning Megumi into a suicidal villain after how mindbroken he is (technically, he shouldn't even be able to think for himself after taking Gojo's domain but whatever floats Gege's boat).

To sum up this chapter message, which is in full agreement with Buddhist philosophy of what the meaning of life is (or is not), we could say that:
Sukuna's view would be: "Life is all about doing absolutely whatever we want"
While Yuji's one would be: "Nah, life is about enjoying every, even the most meaningful, thing and moment it gives to us"

So beautiful...

Now kill that 4 eyed bitch Yuji!

Sukuna said "Ajisai" (hydrangea), but Yuji said "Asagao" (morning glory).

Asagao (ๆœ้ก”):
โ€ข Symbol of impermanence and life's fleeting beauty
โ€ข Represents community and bonds
โ€ข Aligns with Yuji's speech about the meaning of life in this chapter

Ajisai (็ดซ้™ฝ่Šฑ):
โ€ข Blue: Apology, gratitude, understanding
โ€ข White: Vanity, boasting, purity
โ€ข Pink: True feelings, sincere emotion

I believe Sukuna might be referring to the pink hydrangea.

finally a decently good chapter lot of talking but the build up was nice and Yuji has finally tapped into the full Sukuna mode of being a menace himself
