Sukuna was actually fine with fighting Gojo then and there, it was actually Gojo who had other things he wanted to take care of beforehabd,
Also, What "fell in Sukuna's way that he wasn't directly responsible for?"
I could easily point out how Gojo "lucked" into (because we know nobody can do it at will) 4 black flashes, and how he "lucked" into prison realm, something that gave him a new ability without him actually doing anything of his own

He had no chose but to go heinan era mode cause he has no more CE left it’s why we didn’t see him use anything and it was explicitly stated that he has a way to revert back to OG form without the use of RCT..
it’s also why Uraume went out of her way to deliver his CTool..

Then why didn't none of y'all see it before Gojo got cut in half?
If Sukuna has been getting all the benefits from Gege, it should have been damn obvious where the fight was going. But all y'all argued against Sukuna saying he's a fraud and all that.
But when he got his due hype and Gojo sucked him off too, suddenly he's a Gary stu?
Sukuna also literally was a slave to a 15 year old kids will. He was literally a prisoner for like 3/4 of the damn manga. Got humiliated by Gojo at the start of the manga and for most of their fight. Had to make a bow to the 15 yr old kid. Only got to come out for like 1 minute at a time etc.
Sukuna has been through his own share of Ls. He's just now starting to get some Ws. And those Ws were a direct result of his own strength and his own planning.
And he'll almost certainly get his final L and get beaten.

It’s crazy, we might see Sukuna take down the strongest modern sorcerer (Gojo) and the strongest edo period sorcerer (Kashimo) before he even reveals his CT.
