kaido defeated luffy 3 times before he recognized him.

he never defeated zoro, when sanji asked zoro who put him in his poor condition, zoro answered: kaido and big mom. also kaido hit defenceless zoro with thunder bagua and didn't even make him lose consciousness.

He was starting to recognize Luffy the first time he defeated him yet he kept watching him and KOing his minions even unconscious. This whole arc, the interactions between them have been an ongoing contest to see who has the bigger dick; a treatment noone else received.

It's pointless to compare Zoro (or anybody, for the matter) with Luffy.

The attack was intended for everyone. It is just Zoro’s self sacrificing Samurai self took the attack for all others and got around 30 of his bones broken.
The real question is why didn’t healthy Zoro used his ashura attack earlier. Almost like Ashura is a last attack mode and would have the same power regardless

you have to ask Oda about that. Personally I think they weren’t pushed to their limits unlike Zoro and Luffy.
But Ignoring all the strawmans. The point still stands that Kaido didn’t mean that sentence for Zoro specifically. He meant it for all SNs. And if you think otherwise then you lack reading comprehension.
