Kat’s skill with his DF makes it good, yeah. Base CoA and base CoC, not impressed. Base CoC has no use in battle. Future sight is overrated.

Extreme situations cause haki to bloom faster
Luffy was fighting katakuri to advance his observation
Luffy was casually fighting fodder for the most part when learning to advance his armament. Then as soon as he was put into an extreme situation when hyogoro almost died he unlocked the highest step in armament that moment

And still, it took Luffy longer to learn Future Sight than CoC infusion. He didn't start using future sight the moment he realized that Katakuri has it.
