General & Others Kuzan vs strawhat matchup

Koby is probably gonna become Fleet Admiral eventually, so not necessarily. Admiral level isn’t his ceiling.
I doubt the ¨hero of the marines¨ would want to end up sitting behind a desk instead of being active and helping people. And there´s no reason for Koby to just not say that as his goal if it was Oda´s intention. It would be the equivalent of Luffy saying he wants to become a Yonko pre TS, only to end up as PK

Doesn't change a thing I said. They didn't even have to fight over the position. Gorosei wanted Akainu. If Sengoku agreed no fight ever takes place. Sengoku wanted Kuzan.
Sure, in-universe the Fleet Admiral doesn’t have to be a level above the other Admirals. It’s not like they’ll just leave the position vacant if none of the Admirals are “Fleet Admiral level,” but this is a fictional story written by a guy who almost always makes the boss of the organization not only the strongest of the group, but also a step above his top subordinates.

Sure Fleet Admiral Coby can be a step above Admiral X Drake

Just like how Fleet Admiral Papazuki is a step above Admirals Fat and Twerk.
Maybe, but not Kizaru and Kuzan. So it's entirely dependent on the individual. I mean Kong was weaker than his subordinates.

As far as the Fleet Admiral strength requirement is concerned, it is already met when you are made an Admiral.

1. The Marines will be a fundamentally different organization after EoS
2. Admirals themselves have a lot less freedom than Vice Admirals, so Koby should just pull a Garp and stay a Vice Admiral by this logic.
3. Koby declaring that he dreams to become an Admiral happened in like chapter 5 of the series, so him dreaming of becoming only an Admiral instead of Fleet Admiral could just be an early series oddity. It doesn’t really make sense to only want to become the 2nd highest rank an not the highest, and what new gen Marine would become th future Fleet Admiral if not Koby?

I don´t see how you can maintain a fleet admiral agenda if you don´t even think Sengoku is>Garp. If the fleet admiral isn´t inherently above all other Marines, Kuzan is clearly not much weaker than Sakazuki, the man who refused to even serve under him, and had Blackbeard shitting himself as hard as Sakazuki did. You could try excluding the other 3 and argue that there are 2 FA marines, but Sakazuki literally doesn´t even believe it to be his place to criticize Kizaru, and Kizaru doesn´t see Sakazuki as his superior beyond officially.

You could argue Fujitora and Aramaki are the exceptions, but you´d honestly be bsing to say Kong has even looked as good as them, let alone as good as Sakazuki and Kuzan, just when it comes to sheer presence. There also isn´t much to suggest Fuji and Ryo are that much weaker than Sakazuki, at most a sub tier.

Iirc, Koby didn´t actually mention becoming an admiral at introduction, he just mentioned being a marine in general. He only mentions becoming an admiral in w7, at that point Oda definitely had the system figured out.

I doubt any new gen marine will become fleet admiral at any point during the series. Idk if we even get 3 new ones, or Koby is just the only young marine to become an admiral.

Someone has to be Fleet Admiral in the inevitable Two Piece spinoff

You forget Marineford, “I have to fight or I’ll never change!” Then gets fucking Bellamyd.

Yeah “nothing suggesting Coby won’t be Luffys rival”
Bruh, Koby went from being literally below fodder in East Blue to mastering some Rokushiki after just a month of training with Garp, became a “hero of the Marines” during the TS, and unlocked ACoC after just 2 years of starting his training. Idk why you’re ignoring that Koby had a much later starting point than Luffy, who had been undergoing special training since he was 7

And he’ll always be fodder compared to the current standard of power. Bros big moment post timeskip was breaking the wrist of one of BBs commander after Garp lined it up for him.

True he’s more Konohamaru than potential man

At the very least, Koby doesn´t want that position, his explicit goal is to be an admiral. No one knows what happens in the future, or in sequels, which can be whatever, probably not even written by Oda

Idc for COC debates, but trying to gatekeep becoming an admiral as a kingly ambition in the big 26 is actually crazy. The logic here isn´t anything worse than granting it to Mihawk through Zoro.

Koby denial is pure cope.

Oda's set up and intentions couldn't be more obvious, but the illiterates gonna deny it until it's on the page.
