it's not a term that is only a trend in the fans, as you said
monster trio is mentioned in the manga. And it refers to the crew with monstrous strength. Jinbe definitely has better feats compared to sanji. Already showed u before how jinbe attacked big mom

Well this is absurd and obviously wrong considering they are called the Sweet Generals in the official translations.

And the word literally beans Monster Trio: Kaibutsu San Ningumi is what she says. Three monsters is obviously derived from that from a translator who didn't see the pattern until it was repeated in Fishman Island

Nah, not really. Nami is just referring to them as the three strongest. Would franky have been caught here as well she probably would have said four strongest. Monster trio is no actual official term
