Powers & Abilities Lets settle this once and for all: was Kaido awakened or not???

My personal belief is to learn Awakening, you have to be mere inches from death, and characters like Kaido are nominally too powerful to have achieve the conditions for such an event.

Awakening was already explained. It's when your mind catches up to your DF body. Kaido didn't awaken because his mentality didn't match that of the benevolent deity that the Azure Dragon should be. WB wasn't Awakened either because his DF of mass destruction isn't befitting of a kind man who just wants to protect his family

Man I want to say he was but every other awakened Zoan has the cloud so I have to say no. The evidence is just there. Oda is ass for not awakening Kaido.

Idk, probably some more abstract stuff

DFs are created from people's dreams and desires, so Awakening probably happens when your dreams/desires align with the DF creator's dreams/desires

He was pretty much awakened when fight luffy alone but zoan awakening is just a durability and Stat boost. Probably the more he lost control over his human side and became more like a dragon.

A giraffes desire is just to eat plants in the savannah though. That’s not what Kaku is doing.
This may be a bit meta, but Kid is also one of the least magnetic people in the series.

The Homicidal Drunk Phase is not a Zoan form, it's what happens when Kaido taps in his inner Oni Race just like SeaKings get Red Eyes when they go into primal Rage Or Arlong's Pupils get thin and vertical like some cat..

And there's no such thing as Flaming Zoan form, Kaido is still in his base Zoan form inside the Magma Dragon..


Now Kaido didn't use Awakening in that fight, the reason is because he's an Oni race, he can't use Awakening or
he goes completely Berserk and lose conciousness like Pekoms when he goes Sulong..

But Kaido definitely has Awakening, he never use it though.. His Demon race makes him unable to use that power
efficiently.. Else he would be as strong as Prime Whitebeard..

Could Imu have red eyes because they are crazy?

I don't understand the point of awakening as a concept. Just a powerup? I mean, we already had people being skilled with their devil fruits previously.

What was the point of making this a thing with clouds or whatever the fuck?

He would have been too powerful so Oda decided against it. Which still is a bad decision though given people like Doflamingo and Katakuri have had awakening.

I think the difference with Imu is it's pupils are red versus Berserk Sea Kings and like Sulong the whole eyes are red..

Not really he wasn't awakened because no one was able to kill him.

Even if he was, he had to lose cheaply to continue the story. The 2nd half of the fight didn't have the weight of puffy finally fighting an emperor for the first time in it.
