He’s a damsel because Oda went out of his way to establish that Loki isn’t actually a bad guy, he’s also a son of the king (literally a prince).

It’s just a subversion of the damsel trope Oda loves but using a chad giant this time.

I’m utterly baffled how yall fall for fake hype after all this time

Loki is to Elbaf what Oden was to Wano - the strongest representative of the country in recent era(last 50 years)...
Are we ready for Loki to stand where Oden stands - shoulder to shoulder with Shanks/Rocks/Whitbeard/Roger?
Worst case scenario, Loki is Elbaf's Yamato - still a handful of the strongest. Loki should not be underestimated.

Loki having a good side underneath only means that he'll likely to be redeemed by the end of the arc, which I always thought was going to happen.
If any this chapter convinced me he's going to play an antagonistic role
Pride in Elbaf history of wars and violence seems to be a big part of his character, and he looks down on human seeing the way he refers to them.
This creates a conflict with the current Elbaf that is all about peace and exchanges.
He also neve claimed to be innocent when he was trying to convince Luffy to free him, which implies he really killed the king.

Loki is clearly the Wyper/Franky of this arc, might initially play an antagonistic role at the start but isn't the main villain.
Oda is not that subtle of a writer, Loki was straight up called a "nice guy" before he even got to do anything.
