think SRMs have more posts because there r day actions and more stuff to talk about + more number of players + dead active players often times resub back + the allowed amount of fluff in them is generally larger

post count in of itself isn't a great measure of engagement imo, it's usually inflated by 20% of the players
Dead actives rarely subbed back in for the past year since its frowned upon, sure day actions add more posts. Some SRM have less number of players then RMS yet do far better.

And finally, Blue was complaining about less engagement and less pages amounts I showed him that its:

1- False and depends on the theme and time the game is held.

2- People prefer SRMs here because it is inherently an anime/ roleplay forum so having cool stuff to us = more engagement.

Now that doesnt mean people dont like RMs, they do but youd be lying to my face if you said they didnt prefer SRM.

And my main point about RM or SRM is that flavor matters a lot for engagement.

There was one game that Kekko made where everyone was revealed to be secretely mafia at the end of the game. Nobody had fun with it lol.

i think the problem is probably most of the engagement is carried by the same usual suspects. what blue was talking about is lack of engagement as a whole

This is a weird take, here is the issue. The inactive rely on the actives to do their job for them and just play with their roles. Thats fine. If the actives stop talking it wont make the inactives talk more.

i think it would. they'll be able to keep up with the game at the very least which informs their actions more

the fact that leading is associated with yapping is problematic in itself. right now it feels like you need to put so much effort to drive something. mafia lose more these days because its harder to yap as mafia and match the same town tenacity that everyone has now. lots of players sub as mafia for that reason

Well yeah you gotta generate activity to generate thoughts and reads and lead. No mafia can yap just as much and powerwolf.

Ekko what you want is easy mode for Mafia. A strong and cohesive town leads to whoever rands mafia becoming a better mafia player and vice versa.
my view on this is it is (hopefully) easier for the active yappers to control their yapping a bit than it is for the average inactive andy to quit their irl job and decide to suddenly become active on an online forum

many people come and see 20 pages. they try to catch up throughout the day in their free time, and by the time they r done there is another 20 pages. its off-putting

reducing the activity threshold makes the game more accessible to the general majority and it makes the inactive players able to read more % of the game and give more informed thoughts than spend half their posts asking for summaries
