the world of mafia has changed alot. ive visited 10s of mafia discord servers. check out the bios of the players in champs. most of them are representing discord servers. its the new age of mafia. thats where all the yappers reside now. if you want high intensity and activity game gotta hit one of those

perhaps maybe we can make a WG discord mafia and host games there to try it out

my view on this is it is (hopefully) easier for the active yappers to control their yapping a bit than it is for the average inactive andy to quit their irl job and decide to suddenly become active on an online forum

many people come and see 20 pages. they try to catch up throughout the day in their free time, and by the time they r done there is another 20 pages. its off-putting

reducing the activity threshold makes the game more accessible to the general majority and it makes the inactive players able to read more % of the game and give more informed thoughts than spend half their posts asking for summaries

i am not saying the game shud devolve and become full dead like sky's recent game in OLF. imo games like ratchets baseball/tennis game or mangos fate had the right amount of activity. enough content to read players and solve the game.

That wont get new players. One Piece will, something like create your own character which I plan to host soon. I already have 2 players in mind that promised me they will come back.

Garou for all its crazyness and meme worthy moments only reached 180 pages for example. I loved it, its a cult classic, but the gist of it is.

New players will be more inclined to join and play a flavor they know and like. Even if they suck at the game they can atleast engage in flavor solving or see how their favorite characters look like in mafia format.

no no im just sayin each active player would do the game a service by cutting their average post count by like 30 per day. they can still keep leading

the fact that leading is associated with yapping is problematic in itself. right now it feels like you need to put so much effort to drive something. mafia lose more these days because its harder to yap as mafia and match the same town tenacity that everyone has now. lots of players sub as mafia for that reason

there is always diminishing returns every time the game becomes too active. what ends up happening is basically like the gap between the rich and poor. the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. the more active players continue expanding the gap between them and the lower active ones, keeping the low active ones out of the loop. then mafia kills the most active players and you are left with bunch of inactive townies that have no idea wtf is going on. that's how an end game is lost for town despite starting great

an evenly paced game is much better. all town are working together from the start. all town are keeping up with the game from the start. MHA, ratchet's tennis game, and mango's fate serve as good baseline for that reason

Let’s shelve this please. Town won but I hosted one of those game, it was an inactive fest and people didn’t know what the fuck was going on either except for a few usual suspects. Let’s move on from this discussion.

In fact Cryo (who this account is named after and maybe is subconsciously influencing how I play) was (maybe still is) a super yapper. Like 1k posts per day kind of yap and ppl didn’t like how unreadable the game became bc of it

Funnily enough when I have a postcap I meme waaaay less and only post like 40-60 per day. Sometimes even less.

I unironically (and I’m sad I lost this mentality) used to try to make my ISO as readable and concise as possible with little fluff so that people could easily read and understand what I was saying

But now I’ve sort of let myself go

I also feel like a post cap would give ppl who are addicted to mafia more of a stopping point cuz rn it’s the Wild West and u can just keep going and going and going and nothing will stop u
