General & Others Make One Piece great again

- Don't let your hatred of Sanji to cloud your writing. Bring back Mr. Prince and stop using him as a gag and hype tool. (Gags are good in fights though)
- Give every SH individual fights like you used to do. Luffy is a great character, but everyone in the crew needs to increase their skills, for which the greatest method is fighting.
- Further elaborate upon Sanji's fire powers. They are clearly not just friction or fire of love stuff. Are they generated due to incomplete exoskeleton? Are Sanji's genetic modifications somehow awakened in later years? Can Sanji's genes be re-modified through surgery to completely remove the effects of Sora's drug? Answer the important questions.
- Focus more on crews of other supernovas. Only other crew we got a sort of proper introduction to was Bege's crew. How come these crews are rivals to SHPs? They seem way too weak and way too unimportant for any kind of competition with Straw Hats
- Add more personal dimensions to Straw Hats. Stop showing Zoro as a brutal fight machine with no sense of direction only. They had their personal moments before timeskip, now they seem just like stereotypical characters from a crude story. The only Straw Hat you have added more dimension to his personality was Sanji (and even then you used every single chance to bash him post-TS). Place equal importance to all of them, this is not just a fight all/conquer all manga.

That’s fine if it’s true; I didn’t make Oda create a sniper as one of his main protagonists, so even though he clearly has an affinity for swordbois, he has an obligation to do his sharpshooter justice after 23 years.
I mean it is possible to prefer goofball Usopp to any remotely serious take, but also, it's not like he's alone at all in fiction. Most comics you can think of don't give guns anywhere near the proper respect, especially if swords are relevant.

Sorry I know this whole thread is on subjective nitpicks but for some reason this one made me respond.

I agree that gunplay isn’t given the time and detail swords get in a lot of works, but I don’t mind goofy Usopp; I think he has a lot of funny lines and bits throughout the series. It’s the overwhelming and continuing cowardice I’m tired of, he has plenty of reason to trust himself in a fight now.

Imo, One Piece has been great, however an actual big downside is one of those strengths: The sheer variety of promises, characters and plotlines.

We are at a point where Wano almost doesn't feel like there is an end in sight because how much this has culminated into. In my opinion, Oda needs to chill with introducing so many new characters (Outside of the ones he's teased already like Vegapunk, Ryokugyuu, SSG, etc) and plotlines, and officially stick to what is left.

I know this probably won't happen, especially when he consistently devotes chapters to people like the Underworld Emperors or introduce the concept of Rocks, but I think Oda needs to at least try to bring it all together:

- So many teased islands still like Elbaf, Lodestar, God Valley and Laugh Tale (and wherever the setting for the final war is if not at these locations, i.e. Mariejois/New Marineford/Fishman Island. Implied locations like Vegapunk's Lab

- So many teased characters and plotlines like Mihawk, Weevil, Kuma, Bonney, Urouge, Hancock, Vivi, Shirahoshi, Crocodile, Enel, Buggy, Vegapunk, Rocks(?), Blackbeard and Shanks, Im, Akainu, Fujitora, Kizaru, Ryokugyuu, Smoker, Tashigi, Aokiji, Dragon, Sabo, Ivankov, the rest of the commanders, Garp, Sengoku, Kong, Gorosei, and a slew of other characters that allegedly have roles in the story (SHF members, rest of the Supernova, Impel Down Escapees, Underworld characters, Bon Clay, Magellan, Moria, Loki, are just some of the few I can think of).

- Teased events such as the Strawhat Dreams, finding One Piece, Void Century, Will of D., Joy Boy, Ancient Weapons, Noah/FI Destruction, WG National Treasure, Sunlight Tree Eve, Treasure Tree Adam, goals and endings of many characters in this story, etc.

When you think about this all, you start to question how Oda will finish it all reliably (big or small), then you start to realize that this doesnt include any dangling plot threads Wano ends up not resolving. Then on top of this, you start to realize that he will continue to include brand new characters as we move forward, and still has a ton of potential designs through CP-0, the SSG, Marines and other WG Operatives.

Its a lot and its mega scary when editors claim hes "almost" finished, if he even remotely is.

I would say that One Piece will be greatest again only if we got 1x1 or 2x1 full fights of every crew member, without offpaneled things. Now why I'm saying this? Remember Ennies Lobby? Why One Piece was that popular and loved? And why WCI arc ending is like worst ending of arc that we ever seened in OP. Answer is Plot Holes! Because of fact that SH are weak we got stuff where characters became stupid as hell just for sake of plot. I have warn you that in moment when Admirals will face SH crew, Akainu will turn into Joke, Kuzaru will became idiot, Fujitora will lose his haki, and Green Bull will catch disease and will lose his consciouness.
That's really funny thing hpw dumb OP fanbase could be, case you could easily read on this forum too, that SH don't need fight and character development, case they have plot armor. People just didn't release that we got BigMom turned into BigMeme only because of plot armor. People also believed that Kaido is above Big Mom, and now we got Kinemon who can hurt Kaido. Just wait, case every character in the end will turn into joke and everything just for plot sake...only fights and char develop could save One Piece.

Usopp in Syrup Village, having seen nothing of the world or faced any difficult opponents - “I want to be a brave warrior of the sea!”

Usopp, more than two years after leaving his village, visiting fantastical islands and defeating several powerful villains by himself - “Oh shit, is that fodder in front of Onigashima??” *cowers in fear on the ship*
Bingo.

Honestly, all Strawhats need proper character development instead of character regression.

Usopp and Chopper are the biggest offenders.

To make it great again Oda must correct some great mistakes

Jozus no diff was a huge down for the entity as Yonko no fan right now takes a yonko crew seriously some even ( understandable) say that one admiral can low diff the whole yonko crew so there is no excitement in the yonkos right now there too weak and view as middle class fighters just a stepping stone but right now Oda is focusing on them as whole but people dont take them seriously

Burgess easily being defeated
Jack trashed numerous time that when we see Jack we see a loser
Queen was no match for Big Mom he couldnt even put up the slightest fight
Oven trash
Smoothie uselss
Katakuri has no endurance

Overall all Yonko members are losers in our eyes no unbeatable vibe no threathing vibe
Overall we just think there boring if you have no good enemy the excitement will go

For other mangas AFO is amazing as an enemy and now look at the sales its close to OP also the excitement is bigger than in OP

Oda himself destroyed the image of the yonkos plotwise it was a stupid
now he concentrated from chapter 800-988 ( and still going on ) thats 188 chapters its nearly 5 years of his writing dedicated to a story nobody treats seriously and rather than like nearly Punk hazard if the enemy you want to defeat is not worthy then the story takes a great blow from the interests and the interst is going down

Look the yonkos there jokes even Crocodile or Doflamingo were more intimidatng than them

If every admiral can solo all yonko crews then you did a great mistake and focus your story on something nobody really excites he should have focus the story on the WG they are more intimidating, cooler and stronger

To watch the yonkos is to watch a turtle going in the dessert for water sooo slow sooo boring sooo lame

And whats worse the admirals wont be the main enemy it will be the gorosei and Im-sama the admiral will just there executives so Oda destroyed the image of the yonko for a part of the WG force which will play not the most important enemy role he wasted 5 now and pre preparing are PH and Dressrosa 9 years on a storyline nobody took seriously that lead to drop the sales massively

Even the editor did realize this an applied the fans to skip the inbetween arcs before Wano
If Oda would let the yonko commanders and there captains perform better then WCI would break records now its on level as alabasta
