Character Discussion Marco Feels like one of the biggest Failure

Despite how in unbelievable cool Marco is, he was never meant to be super relevant or strong, he does his job of being a Yonko commander well enough. He wasn't on a trajectory of becoming a Yonko level character or anything.
This is visible when Oda uses Marco mostly as a plot device, he exist to stall powerfull characters with his regen
So the tidbits moments he gets should be treasured, hope to see him again saving Weevil

I love Marco's fruit but he is a forgettable character. The fate of every CoCless strong guy is irrelevance. Just die and leave the fruit to Sanji's RS.
I'm curious about what happened to Jozu and Vista. It is really weird how they disappeared from the manga and nobody seems to care, not even Marco (also I'm quite obsessed with the diamond fruit)

COC means potential not actual power level
Ace had COC for years and yet you can’t say the version of Ace that stalemated Jimbo was stronger than Marco
Same for Doffy who wasn’t stronger than Marco
Etc etc
Kata has more potential than Marco no doubt about it
Kata was the YC1 and the special one of his crew. He was both. While for the others Marco was the YC1 and Ace the special one and King was the YC1 and Yamato the special one.
WCI Kata wasn’t stronger than Marco. Still afraid of his mouth, still bound to his mother, still with a leash. Luffy kinda freed him, and BM downfall only accelerated this again. Next time we will see him Kata will likely be quite stronger and EOS he will be even better.

Because he had no real importance to begin with.
In Marineford, Jozu and Vista were portrayed equally with Marco - top commanders capable of protecting WB from anyone.
Ace always had more narrative importance despite his life being cut short.
And then comes Oden, the most important member of WB pirates and a brother to Whitebeard.
Marco was none of it. Not a brother, not a guy Whitebeard formed a crew with, not a guy Whitebeard wanted to make into PK.
Not a guy with any personal and distinct goal in life. Only Katakuri is similar because he too is a failure.
All other #2s of the big pirate organizations are built different and have more importance/purpose.
