One of better aspect in One Piece is the character interactions, and among the more interesting ones, it's interaction between non Straw Hats characters. One of them that interest me since long ago, as a Mihawk fan, is Mihawk's interaction with the weapon wielding baboons living in his island.
So how close do you guys think the relationship between Mihawk and the baboons?

One more question, one of the stronger aspect in One Piece is, protect the nakama. One doesn't simply go silent if someone touches or hurts your nakama, especially for good characters. Many example already:
- Straw Hats went berserk after Franky Family hurt Usopp
- Whitebeard Pirates went into losing war just to save Ace
- Doflamingo went all the way to Punk Hazard to save Buffalo and Baby 5 (only to be betrayed by the latter)
- Sabo and RA went berserk after seeing Celestial Dragons did Kuma dirty

Now let's imagine, during 1 of Mihawk's visit to East Blue, suddenly some strong pirates go to Kuraigana Island, defeat the baboons, capture them, and trying to sell them to Slave Auction House in Sabaody Archipelago. What do you think Mihawk's reaction upon knowing such event? Will he come all the way to Sabaody to wreck havoc and rescue them. Or will he just let it go like nothing happened?

Mihawk is an introvert, Shocker, but he has a warm heart in my opinion.

- It's just like Sengoku/Garp where it doesn't make sense that these two have gotten so close together despite them being so different. Shanks and Mihawk definitely share some traits.

Mihawk cares for Perona and for the baboons in my opinion. If for instance the Marines would buster call the island, he would defend the home of the baboons, that's how I see his character.

Also, it seems that Mihawk thinks highly of their skills, dude was shocked after Zoro beat them

Mihawk can't care less about a bunch of baboons they are so insignificant he doesn't waste his time not even for a casual slash killing them all :cheers:

well...probably first Mihawk will do an enquiry about who harmed and captured them.

If it is someone from Eastblue, then he will go and kill that person and rescue Baboons from slave trader. However, there is a chance that some CD might be interested in Baboons who can do swordplay. So, if Mihawk goes late, then he might be seeing his baboons get owned by CD. In this case, he knows that Admirals will come after his ass in case if he attacks CD. So he will go back to his castle as if he doesn't know the existence of baboons and do farming by himself.

If it is someone from New world, he won't even bother to ask who did it. There is no need to know the name when he can postpone things right away.

There is a peaceful option also. As long as CD is not involved, if Mihawk has so much money, then he can auction the baboons and go back.

Imo his relation, which could also be a parallel by Oda, is like Zoro and the lesser SH in his crew he doesn't care so much about them but recognizes their value as they do stuff that is helpful in the end (cook, navigate etc) plus he probably enjoys have a crowd of cheerleaders (Sanji and Nami in the last chapter, Usopp when he slayed Pica etc). They are pretty much like the baboons tending the fields for Mihawk.

So Mihawk would most likely slay these pirates if not for other things because they dared to go to his islands and mess with it while he was away.

Seriously those baboons are pretty interesting, they copy humans in good and bad ways, inbthat country destroyed by war they were warmongers, yet Mihawk gave Zoro the task to beat them, which is not very comradely, yet later in the cover stories they are seen tending the fields after taking example, most likely, from Mihawk so him having them become "good" baboons after copying him can also reflect that now Mihawk cares about them (and also what is the real character of Mihawk), in the end it is almost like childs growing up copying the adults. And I think every adult will love a child (baboon) who grows up lookijg at hik like an example to follow.

So imo he most likely cares (now). And if another Zoro landed on thebisland now he wouldn't task hik to beat them.
