I don't need to tell you anything just read manga. When Mihawk come to Shanks first time in manga, Shanks asked Mihawk if he comes to challenge HIM. Why do someone who lose a fight would ask question like that? Than Mihawk answered that he don't have any interest in Shanks without arm. This scene alone means their rivalry didn't come to a conclusion.

Mihawk became WSS who knows when, but Shanks became a Younko only 6 years ago. But they didn't fight from a moment when Shanks returned from East Blue with one arm.

Also WB said that Shanks became famous thanks to his battles against Mihawk. How could anyone became famous if he lose the battle? SO COPE HARDER. Manga never said that Mihawk won the fight against Shanks, and Shanks never won against Mihawk.

Now how Mihawk became WSS you asked? He defeat previous WSS, that's all.

No. The conclusion is very obvious. The winner is WSS while the other isn't.

Shanks asked that question because Mihawk was the one going after him. Simple like that. WSS doesn't challenge anyone. People challenge him. Just like Zoro and Vista did.

Isn't Kid famous for being a loser? His only feats are against civilian fodders. Law became famous hunting fodder pirates. All Rocks member are famous and they all lost at God Valley. Not sure what you mean. If Shanks won he would be WSS. WB never said Shanks won. He said he became famous for his battles with Mihawk. So Mihawk was already famous and Shanks surf his popularity probably for being someone that pushed him to the limits. There is a probability of Mihawk already being WSS at time but I wouldn't bet on that.
