No grown man wants to fight a pregnant woman. Then she became a grandma with a giant family, neither Mihawk and Shanks are cruel enough to separate a mother from her children and grandchildren.

All the pirates at Roger’s execution were inspired to go after the piece and all the pirates in cross guild once dreamed of going after it
A young rookie mihawk taking a lost while going after an arguably prime Linlin after a betrayal of some sort really ain’t that bad
Buggy giving up on the one piece because of shanks while crocodile, mihawk, and Moria taking big loses to the rocks trio makes sense
We know buggy crocodile and mihawk each felt grand betrayals. Again we know buggy felt betrayed by shanks but we don’t know yet for crocodile and mihawk

Ofc, that's why he resides at paradise and get under wg protection by become shichibukai. When his title revoked, he evacuated from kuragaina island and teamed up with crocoboy. Look at rayleigh, every one on WG side knew he is on shanbody and he still most wanted man but he chill on there gettin drunk everytime.
