From what I can tell Kizaru just does the same as Sentomaru and is sumo-palming to block attacks. He might be using his DF to give himself some extra protection (however that’s meant to work with light).

Yeah I meant the barrier. Either way I get what you’re saying. My problem is if a character that’s light speed has time to say “oh no I’m in trouble” then he should have time to guard. That alone is a knock to his defense.

Kizaru was in Luffy’s fist, so Luffy pounding the ground wouldn’t do anything to him. He’s a logia.
Plus Kizaru could just fire a laser at him point blank too.
And yes it was the strongest attack that Luffy used up till that point. The only thing stronger we’ve seen is Bajrang Gun which would have been useless.
Even the likes of Kaido was momentarily on the ground after a weaker attack…so I’m not sure why you were expecting Kizaru to pop back up as if nothing happened? That’s just bizarre.

Honestly, the fight never felt serious to me. Luffy was acting like a child, didnt use AdCoC properly. His attitude reminded me of his fight against Caesar when Zoro tells Luffy to get serious. Only when Franky asked Luffy to do something, he used a serious attack. On the other hand, Kizaru was also almost trolling for most of the fight. Thats why it felt like nothing was at stake here.

Oda can't let Luffy go all out as there's no opponent that makes sense other than Yonko that would give him trouble.

So Oda has to put plot armour and nerfs against Luffy to maintain this underdog perception.

He's the strongest in that form but he plays around 90% of the time during the mode, so it leaves room for the opponent to outlast G5.
Unfortunately Kizaru wasn't strong enough to do that.

G5 is perfect but Oda for his cheap dramas creating fake stamina issues. If it has worst drawbacks than other hax and G5 hax is not like other usable hax and yet it poses worst drawbacks, lol. G5 by definition and by impotance, its hype matches only when it will.never comes with drawbacks same as G4. Law said he will lose stamina post awakening but somehow it never became an issue in a clutch time. And even after Bigmom fight he didn't look as disgusting as Luffy looking now. Even after Kaidou fight, luffy didnt have that disgusting look. In pre TS, arc to arc there will be progress in power but in post TS, there is a power regression. G5 potential is not using perfectly by Oda and CoC was also forgotten just like FS after WCI. Why Luffy regress in powers when other characters progress? This guy need brain surgery more than eye surgery.

I’m still a Luffy fan that will never change but this fight was ridiculous. I have never seen a fight this stupid. I’ll give you my issues with the fight one by one:

1. Oda hyped Kizarus defense and I believed it after how well he handled Gear 4 Snakeman. However, proceeds to get knocked the fuck out after one ACoC attack from gear 5 Luffy.

2. Luffy why weren’t you using ACoC from the beginning? Did you actually need gear 5? Even if you did why wouldn’t you use ACoC immediately in Gear 5 like with Kaido? This doesn’t make any sense, Luffys goal is to escape while Kizarus is to kill Vegapunk. So instead of knocking Kizaru out because you could clearly do it whenever you wanted to you wait until you’re exhausted and can’t protect Vegapunk without restarting your heart? That’s the dumbest shit ever.

3. Why would you go giant mode grab Kizaru and throw him? That’s so fucking dumb. Imaging Mihawk throwing Yoru at Zoro during their fight?

It seems like Luffy is clearly stronger than Kizaru after this first round which I don’t like. Kizaru should organically push Luffy to high diff at the bare minimum Luffy shouldn’t be down from exhaustion and be able to knock Kizaru out on the way down with one semi serious attack. That’s disrespectful to the admirals. Kizaru can’t move after one hit? Yonko > Admiral still stands but this fight was horrible.

Ironically the post Zou version of One Piece has longer stretches of action and a massive increase in lore/world stage/endgame relevance... and yet, it's a lot less funny, charming, well paced, or exciting. I’m still a Luffy fan that will never change but this fight was ridiculous. I have never seen a fight this stupid. I’ll give you my issues with the fight one by one:

1. Oda hyped Kizarus defense and I believed it after how well he handled Gear 4 Snakeman. However, proceeds to get knocked the fuck out after one ACoC attack from gear 5 Luffy.

2. Luffy why weren’t you using ACoC from the beginning? Did you actually need gear 5? Even if you did why wouldn’t you use ACoC immediately in Gear 5 like with Kaido? This doesn’t make any sense, Luffys goal is to escape while Kizarus is to kill Vegapunk. So instead of knocking Kizaru out because you could clearly do it whenever you wanted to you wait until you’re exhausted and can’t protect Vegapunk without restarting your heart? That’s the dumbest shit ever.

That’s disrespectful to the admirals. Kizaru can’t move after one hit? Yonko > Admiral still stands but this fight was horrible.

This is why Oda needs brain surgery or he should look into his pre TS creative comedy. He will realize his comedy strength. I dunnow how much I have laughed for mizu luffy or no thought fight with Enel. G3 chibi version post drawback because they do not effect the overall situation. Now it is annoying because they just serve for stalling or selling cheap drama. What logic is there when you lose stamina you become old? And when u lose haki u cant move? Haki is willpower but somehow it works like chakra. Someone should slap some sense to Oda deranged brain.

G4 drawback doesn't make any sense. 9 hrs continues use of haki, no sign of losing it (luffy vs Katakuri) but using g4 for 20 minutes, lose haki? Haki is not chakra to work like energy.

Luffy didn't use haki because he was just toying around. This is toon force did you forget? Luffy is clowning around. If he had used CoC, he'd have one shotted Lizaru and where is the fun?

Why does the stamina drawback matter? He died and then resurrected. What state he is in now is just a plot point. Kuma's flashback has already mentioned Nika, the robot reacted to the heart beat, this is just the buildup to Kuma arriving and he and bonney listening to the drums of liberation.
Admirals aren't end game how does Luffy beat Imu and others if he high diffs a mere slave to the Gorosei? Thats ridiculous.

I believe it is because Luffy limited his imagination to being a rubber man. That is why he is suffering from plasticity and the stamina issue. Once he learns he is far more than just a rubber, he will have no limits. This arc is exactly for Vegapank to tell him that.
