Born like Zoro in another sea but their roots are from Wano.

It's possible, it's a big troll from Oda but i don't think so because Moria's rival was Kaido the one who killed Oden, so Moria was fighting for Kozuki clan's honor. And that's why he took Ryuma's body so easily because he was in Wano. And was preparing his army for Kaido.
Add now what centurion said about the kanji "Kozuki = 光月 which is the reverse of Gecko =月光, well ...

Moria is human, horns are apparently just a feature of some humans in the One Piece world. My bet is one of his parents had horns and they were passed down.
