There are some signs which say mugis would fight against kaido:
1) Mugis have defeated relative easy the kaido subordinates and with little relevance (for example franky vs kumadora or baby5 had more relevance than franky vs sasaki)
2) Marco words: there are a lot of people than they think marco will fight against kaido due he said than now he doesn't fight with him but marco also said than mugis (not only zoro) are the main fighters and they must go up on the rooftop
3) Yamato meet the mugis and she says they are strong: Yamato should need to know it isn't only luffy if not the another mugis are also strong
4) Kaido recognise the another mugis (and not just luffy and zoro)

I think it'd ultimately come down to this given how relatively easy the SHs are winning their battles. I mean none of them are out or totally exhausted so they can still fight. Not to mention Franky was going on about some "Anti-Kaido" weapon on Zou so Oda will need to revisit that at some point. That said though, if they do fight against Kaido, I think it'd be to stall him till Luffy gets there, as at this point Luffy beating Kaido in a 1 v 1 is already written in the stars. The narrative is literally screaming it at us.

It's possible that Kaido takes a bit of damage prior to that final 1 v 1 showdown with Luffy but I don't really have any doubt in my mind that when all is said and done, it'd be Luffy v Kaido duking it out in a 1 v 1 for the climax ^^
