And I had to explain to her it was the freaking background music of all things! They were playing Binks Sake in such a happy context! She hasn't seen the anime so she didn't get it and couldn't sympathise. "It's just a jaunty melody?" -she said.

I haven’t watched the LA but I teared up during the Laugh Tale scene. It was a long awaited and iconic scene and the first ending song was a perfect choice
I also teared up during Wano because it was the worst arc I’ve ever read.

But yes, there were scenes in the series (pre-TS really) that have made me emotional at times, so maybe I can somewhat relate?

The only time OP ever made me emotional was during the Luffy vs Usopp fight in Water 7. Specifically, this one line after Luffy beats Usopp:
