Nah. This one's mostly on KD he set this whole thing up including Kyrie.
Nets would have gotten rid of Kyrie if not for KD. KD failed not only with his on court performance but he completely failed leading this team in any way off the court and with the front office.
Never have I seen a first option escape scrutinee the way KD does. And he seems to be doing it again, atleast compared to what someone who people argue is the best in the game should get.
They refer to that shortly, and i don´t disagree with that.
I am not saying KD is not at fault (insecurity that led to leave GSW, chose wrong team and players, thought he just needs a "partner" to win with iso ball and so forth) but this all would not be an issue if Kyrie was reliable and the partner KD thought he would be.
Of course you can say KD wanted to be another Lebron with all the responsibilities attached and now gotta live with it, and considering he failed the team, he is the main perpetrator, but i think that´s simplifying it too much, especially since if KD had dropped Kyrie quickly, some would also argue he is disloyal and whatnot, something Lebron is often called as well, it´s a difficult issue.
But all that are general problems with the Nets that imo led to the sweep, but not KD getting exposed as a player himself.
Dude had to carry the team all year and is the main reason why they got to the playoffs in the first place, so for me exhaustion in his case at least is not an excuse.

Whats wrong with what Barkley said? I think he was spot on. KD was not the driver of the Golden State bus, it was Steph. He might have won MVPs, but Iguodala also won MVP without being the driver as Chuck rightly pointed out.
Because he simplifies it way too much, and literally claims that the main guy is the driver and everyone else is a passenger, and not only in regards to off-court stuff, but literally on the court, and not only in regards to winning individual games, but championships.
Basketball is a team sport, some players are more important than others, but not absolutely important that you can say they control the direction everything is going towards.
GSW is great because they don´t rely on "bus drivers", nor can you win championships with individual bus drivers, to take up his metaphor.
Barkley, as always with the inside crew, makes a point that stems from his ego because many people hold their championships over his head, so he is trying to make a point that championships are only relevant if you are the main guy, which is nonsense.
What KD has to fault himself with are his insecurities and his desire to be the next Lebron (or even overcome him) and be regarded as the main guy that brought Nets the championship (like Lebron did in Cleveland), while in GSW he did not get the accolades he thought he deserved (despite getting two FMVPs).
So if anything, KD´s fault is the same as Chuck´s in this analogy, thinking that a player deciding the direction of everything would definitely lead to success.
