Arguably it’s between him, Wemby and Ant. Ja Morant had the flair to be the next face, but he won’t be looked at the same with the off court buffoonery. Tho tbf the only thing Luka is missing to be the next face is the championship, all he really needed was a competent core around him to contend. If we're talking how good they are Luka is arguably the best player in the league, the others would be lucky to be top 5. They're not on the same tier.

Nah I’m talking more so being the face of the NBA like Lebron has been for the last 20 years, like Steph was for the latter part of the 2010s. Being the best is a big part of it but it also requires winning, along with the narrative. Out of that I would say Luka is the closest rn because the only thing he’s missing is the winning to cement his place. Giannis never made it back to the Finals. Jokic never had the personality and/or the style. Tatum hasn’t had the success. Ant has the personality. But If Luka wins this finals he will close that door.

Yea basically the international player has to be THAT much better and has to do THAT much more to pull it off. And even that is up in the air considering Giannis couldn't do it. If Tatum was as good as Luka was he'd be solidified face regardless of a chip win, just like Lebron been a face since 03.

If Tatum was as good as Luka I can just see ESPN and the other talking heads salivating all over that proclaiming him to be the next GOAT lol. They even tried to say Ja was better than Luka not too long ago. Yeah…being American carries a lot more weight because being the face also involves advertising, marketing efforts and they’d rather have an American face.

Nah i don't see it, Wemby while having decent stats is way bellow Luka in terms of skill and just ability to win games. Plus Luka has more of that Swag and can talk shit to players which audience loves.

And Ant, well getting your back blown in playoffs like that sure is indicators who has bigger winner mentality and skill. I think Luka managed to shit talk every single player on his team and still outperform them all
