All I'm saying is give Steph even 50% of the help Bron and KD have seen post 2020 and he would have 6 rings by now. Dude won with Andrew Wiggins as his #2. He got Jimmy and the Warriors look like contenders, I don't ask for much.
Curry accepted to have KD joining the team even if he was in finals and blew a 3-1 advantage

Not an ballsy move at all

The 2022 title was great but the 2017/18 are disgusting

with 2017/2018 you can’t say at all Curry didn’t have star power handed to him

Not really, a title is eternal

But yeah he should have chosen his successors better than this

Who did it without help ?

KD case is farrrrrrrr worse than Lebron. The guy joined the best team around who made the record win per season and was already champion without him
Dirk was an advisor for the Mavs until this past season when he got hired by Amazon Prime for 2025-26 and was reportedly furious when Luka, who he was extremely close with when he retired in 2018-2019. He's stopped going to Mavs games and has been seen at Lakers home games. Tyson Chandler used to be with the Mavs but stopped this season.

as for Jason Kidd, there have been recent reports that he went behind Luka's back and basically suggested/orchestrated the trade along with Nico Harrison despite initial reports saying he had no idea. Luka was noticeably shit talking Kidd during the recent Lakers/Mavs game as well

still a hard earned championship in 2011 but at this point its bittersweet

tbh Curry and the Warriors were going to lose to the Cavs moving forward after 2015-16 and might have been stuck at 1 ring to this day if they had kept Harrison Barnes instead of wooing KD.

The Cavs talent-wise with LeBron and Kyrie had basically figured them out at that point. Curry in the clutch got completely outplayed down the stretch and having KD basically took off all the stress/pressure

This is good for Lebron and Kyrie and bad for Curry

but Curry and co didn’t have enough guts to try again and find a solution, they went for the 3rd best player in the league even if they already had a superteam.

Post 2020, if Curry had AD he'd be going to the finals every year bare minimum. Lebron is not winning a championship with the 2022 Warriors roster.

Or if he had the equivalent of Kyrie, Harden, Booker. KD can't even get past the first round with the above, heck he can hardly win a playoff game.

Steph finally got someone you can call a star by his side and the team looks legit immediately. Steph needs the least help out of these 3 to win, KD would be getting the Melo treatment rn if he never joined Warriors, Steph prob wins another ring or 2 at his peak with the cap space they had for another star at that time. Cavs barely beat an injured Curry with the refs help in 2016, so they'd be lucky to repeat that against a healthy Warriors with another star added (someone like PG would have been more than enough).

Debatable but even if you believe that it doesn’t erase the fact that Curry needed KD for help to beat Lebron team even if he already had a monster team.

I can say the same : if Curry hadn’t called KD for help, Lebron would have had 6 rings

if Curry had AD he'd be going to the finals every year bare minimum
AD can be insane and one of the greatest but the man was quite the let down overall. He played like 2/3 of the game possible at the very best
Too injured
And AD isn’t cheap. With him in GS I think a good part of the roster would have had to leave.

Peak Kyrie was a better teammate for me.

KD is a loser. The man is an insane player technically. But he can’t win.

Yet he called the biggest star possible to help him win his 2 and 3rd ring

The thing is Curry pre KD acquisition never had a monster team on paper. You can't compare Klay to Kyrie, or AD, or Luka, or Wade, the list goes on. Everything in the Warriors system is predicated on Curry's gravity and shooting ability.

Klay should be grateful he got to play beside Curry for his career, Curry is an anomaly like no other player in history when it comes to distorting opposing defenses. He will get teammates open like no other player in the history of the league. If you play beside Curry it's like a warmup drill mid game, just ask Jimmy Butler he can't believe how open he is, he said it's like a layup line during warmup with the amount of coverage Curry gets.

Like I said, if KD didn't sign with Warriors they still had massive cap space to go for anyone else. With KD Warriors became unbeatable, with a Paul George caliber of player that offseason they still win the ring but simply a little more difficult.

Reality is Cavs baarely beat an injured Warriors team in 2016. Injured Curry, no starting center, Iguodala's back blown. Still got taken to 7 games in the final minute. Injuries are a part of the game so it's fine, but you'd be foolish to believe a healthy Warriors in 2017 with added help thanks to their salary cap, would not be favourites to win the next year.

It is even worse

It means Curry had the means to keep winning and be the real boss without adding an other broken player to the team.

KD wasn’t needed to win and yet he joined.

Cowardest move even seen, from both KD and
Curry

On paper doesn’t make sense

This pre KD team had the highest number of wins in regular season ever. And they had the second best team in the league beat 3-1 in playoff. They had a monster team. And you said it yourself : you think they would have kept winning even without KD because Cavs made it thanks to GS injuries.

GS had a monster team. Guys being groomed by GS to be strong didn’t make them average players and not top tier teammates.

The alchemy and balance of this team was insane.

Klay was a 20+ points per game guy with great defense and spacing

Yeah maybe I don’t deny that

Curry and KD just chose the easiest way to win

Curry titles would have more weight if he hadn’t called for KD

The thing is if KD wants to join you nobody is gonna be like nah I don't want him. That's a no brainer if KD is willing to join your team.

Monster team but there was only 1 monster, Curry. Klay is not the caliber of help that Lebron has had throughout his career. Synergy was great but the talent LeBron had even at that time was greater.

Well yea that's the point, KD had far more to gain than Curry with that move. Curry would have still been contending for titles, and winning titles for sure given they had space for another star. He probably would have had 1 more MVP to his name as well.

KD really did more damage than good for Curry's legacy no doubt. Curry on the other hand, turned KD from a Melo 2.0 to people putting him in top 10 discussions.

Warriors managed to get to 6th as they said they were gonna do. Warriors just need to keep their playoff spot and they’ll win it all this year. :Gai_Smirk:

Steph is way more skilled than most guys in top 15 all-time. He really doesn’t have anything to prove anymore after carrying in 2022. If he brings home another one then that solidifies his legacy, top 10 player OAT bare minimum. What’s crazy is it’s all skill, this guy isn’t a 7-foot freak like Shaq or KD.

Those were average players that got a boost from Curry’s gravity. I’ve seen it time and time again when Curry sinks a couple of threes. The opponents gets demoralized, and some of his team members also starts playing like all-stars. Aside from the space provided, their confidence also gets a boost just from knowing who’s playing on their side.

Those rankings are difficult to be put together, how are you gonna compare centers like Kareem, Shaq or Dream to Curry.
I would sign him being top 2 all time point guard though.

What Lebron is doing for his age is better than what Luka is doing for his age

if they win the title with Lebron as co franchise player or close second its monumental even if Luka is playing with him and history will remember it that way
You don't get it. Lebron is definitely a great player at 40, nobody denies it. When you compare him with the likes of Jordan, being the 2nd best player in a championship team isn't enough. History will remember him as riding Luka's coattails to his 5th ring.
