His rosters weren't even that good?

Prime Paul George was one of the best second options you could ask for

The year they got bounced by Dame in the first round PG was 3rd in MVP voting and made All NBA First Team while outplaying Russ the entire series
Yea that year he had arguably Embiid lvl of help I can agree to that. The issue is he's still in the far more competitive conference.

And as a 2nd option Russ made it the finals atleast. I'd argue Embiid is currently the second option on the Sixers, with Maxey being the most available player leading the way, and that got him a 2nd round sweep. Now obviously that was with KD but again relative to the conference it takes it down a couple notches.

He is the bummest of them all. It's hard to beat his feat of being unable to reach the ECF even once. Demar was doing it ffs.

And never made it past the first round as a result. We gotta be fair about it

I mean you said it yourself he made it to the Finals playing behind KD and alongside Harden (pre prime but still)

You and I both know that Thunder team would demolish any Sixers team Embiid has ever been on. He was playing behind an MVP lol

On a fairly deep Raptors team. Let's not act like they were ass

Now the fact that they were partially being led by Demar DeFrozen is crazy but still, he had Kyle Lowry with him and he's legitimately a great player

Embiid's never had a 2nd option that's a fraction as good as PG was that year
in 2018-19 PG13 played out of his damn mind but they still got cooked bad by Lillard McCollum & Friends in the 1st Round lol. Both teams had pretty meh benches tbh

They would demolish any Sixers team because Embiid is ass. Replace Embiid with another top 10 player and some of his teams have a great shot against even that Thunder team.

There was a point Embiid had a prime Jimmy Butler as a 2nd option.

Which team was Embiid on that had a chance against KD's thunder if they swap him out

So Brunson, Brown, or current KD with that roster are taking them past the Thunder? You and I both know that isn't happening

I'm not saying he didn't underperform. I'm saying that compared to another MVP in this era he wasn't bad. I still think Russ was the worst considering all of his flaws in the playoffs

Always shot like shit, boneheaded turnovers, inefficient from literally everywhere on the court pretty much every postseason

The team with Jimmy on it could take the Thunder if Embiid is actually as good as you say he is, no doubt about it. Jimmy > Russ, Tobias Harris as 3rd option not too shabby at all, at that time Ben Simmons had some value, and they even had JJ Reddick as a sharpshooter.

The reason they would lose is cause Embiid is a terrible playoff performer, can hardly stay on the floor, and is a perennial choker. Replace him with Jokic, Giannis, or another Star forward, and they could easily compete with if not beat that Thunder squad.

You just named 2 multi time MVP’s that only Sixers fans would deny being much better than Embiid lol

You’re acting like I’m saying he’s the goat. I’m just saying he’s really middle of the pack amongst the stars from this era

He won MVP over peak Jokic bro. What are we doing here?
