Better be Vinsmokes cover story and not some dumb shit like pedro and pekoms were alive all along and travel to wano/zou:seriously:

I even have the theory that in this cover story they will take over north blue!

why? it was said they only want to ally with BM to use her yonkou flag to take over north blue easy, since yonkous still have that scare factor. but now they have yonkou luffy flag they can use, and newspapers also said vinsmokes are working under luffy now, so people will recognize them as luffy underlings and not want to fight them. Imagine judge reaction when his failed experiment sanji got him what he wanted the most, north blue.

Oda could literally draw 30 cover pages of some Okamas taking a shit and it would still be better writing than the last Capone/Lola/Pound coverstory.
I'm curious if Oda paces out this stuff. Clearly it was dragged for a huge amount of time but it almost seemed like he wanted it to last this long. He takes (roughly) a 25-30 chapter break in between each story, but sometimes they start earlier or later than that.

I bring this up because we probably have another 40-60 chapters of Wano left at this rate. Another ~30 or so chapters probably will get us decently close to the concluding fights (maybe) and the next cover story. If that's the case, whatever it is, it won't have to do with the next arc. For example if its about Caesar or Germa, and those are supposed to lead to Vegapunk or something, then I wouldn't expect Vegapunk to be next, but rather Elbaf? Bege's story honestly seems related to it by getting Lola back

Idk, just an interesting thought

We are gonna get some fan requests for a few weeks if they last until act 4 and allow Oda to go back to reverie and warlord plotline in between the acts the cover story will continue with either Bonney or a warlord but if it ends while we are still in act 3 we will get either Caesar or Perona

Bonney is unlikely because she hasn't received arc focus yet, like Urogue. I assume they are part of some post-Wano storyline (my biggest guesses have always been Vegapunk and Elbaf respectively.)

Imo, mid to late Act 4 will start something with Caesar, leading to some eventual Vegapunk plotline (not the next arc, which I think is Elbaf since Bege's cover story served all the ingredients to finish the BM plotline at Elbaf next).

Then that will finish around the end of Wano, the crew gets a huge bounty increase, and the following cover story is another "world reaction" cover story to the strawhats but also a call to arms for the final war.

Who knows though, but I don't think Oda will focus on characters who still require arc focus first.

Is think CC is the main option, but could be Smoker, Tashigi and the kids, Wapol or another royal returning from the Reverie, Perona going after Moria or even what happen to Buggy after he lost the Shichibukai tittle.

Things like Germa, Katakuri or any kind of more relevant plot will never happen, to expect something like this seem like you guys never read the manga and are lost in headcanon.

? Odd take to think Smoker would get something but not Germa. Cover stories ARE there for important characters to drive the plot, just as they are there for smaller ones. Not relevant? Really? The Ace coverstory was extremely relevant and he was way more important than Germa or Katakuri will ever be. Jinbe had his own and hes a strawhat. Jinbe's led directly to WCI. A smaller character like Caribou led to Wano.

That said, its very likely NOT Smoker. At this point, it's been almost 200 chapters since Smoker and Tashigi were seen. Oda skipped over them to do Bege because his story probably leads to Elbaf. He also did a Strawhat fleet cover story instead. Fujitora was last with Smoker, escorting them to Vegapunk's facility. They were the not seen during the whole Reverie event or the post-Reverie debacle, indicating they are still very likely with Vegapunk, which indicates we will see them in the main story during an arc. Considering Kuma, Bonney, Sabo and more have relevancy to Kuma, i doubt we are getting anything on them cover story wise.

This is why the best guesses are Caesar and/or Germa, because they will likely lead to that Vegapunk plotline. Maaaaybe Sabo, whom just like Ace, could get a cover story to where he's MIA with the other 3 commanders trying to find Kuma, but I wouldn't expect this.

Right now we have 2 big candidates for post-Wano stories: Elbaf and Vegapunk. The former has been pretty much teased by Bege's cover story by bringing Lola and her crew back into the plot, and Caesar/Germa are the other characters from WCI that have ties to Vegapunk, which is where Smoker and Tashigi should be and where the whole Kuma/Bonney/Sabo plot was leading towards, not to mention the constant SSG/Vegapunk teases.

Cover stories always fall into 2 categories:

1. They either, very plainly, update us about specific locations or characters
2. They do the above whilst driving forward a particularly major plot to a future arc.

We can go through each and I'll label them a 1 or 2, but earlier cover stories usually didn't lead to an arc, but rather maintained a characters relevancy in the manga.

- Buggy (1): Kept Buggy relevant until Loguetown and shows how he met Alvida. Does not lead to a specific arc.

- Koby/Helmeppo (1): Shows how both became friends, worked under Garp, and became much strongeram as Marines. Does not lead to a specific arc. They were last seen post-Reverie.

- Jango (1): Shows how he met Fullbody, Hina and became a Marine. They were last seen at the Reverie.

- Hatchan (2): Showed how he escaped the Marines and how he met Caimie/Pappag. Technically, it led to Sabaody, so it falls into the second category.

- Wapol (1): Shows how he became a King for a new country in a comical way. Became relevant again at the Reverie.

- Ace (2): Tied to his search for Blackbeard. Led to an entire 100 chapter war plotline about him and Whitebeard.

- Gedatsu (1): Showed the happenings of Gedatsu. Tbh, while this probably the least relevant cover story in the series, it mainly showed how Alabasta prospered and how Vivi was doing. Both Vivi and Alabasta are major plot points post-Reverie, to which we are anticipating what happened.

- Ms. Goldenweek (2): Myriad of character updates but most importantly is it led to Luffys encounter with most of Boroque Works at Impel Down.

- Enel (2): I'm putting this at a 2 for now. Its by far the oldest cover story that has yet to pay off, outside of the 2 most recent ones. There is clearly a ton of mysterious air about the moon stuff and what it means. It still is a mystery, and we are awaiting Enels return because of it.

- CP-9 (1 OR 2): Right now its a 1. It led to Lucci, Kaku and Spandam returning as CP-0 members. However, we have no idea how it came to be and we have no idea what it really means. Is Lucci still evil after being saved by the doctors? Are they infiltrating CP-0? Whats going in here.

- Strawhat Separation (2): Obvious why its a 2 and what it leads to.

- From the Decks of the World (1): Finally gave us a full update on most One Piece characters and locations from the series, but it mostly was fanservice outside of maybe Vivi's updates again

- Caribou (2): Led to his misadventures with Jinbe and eventually falling into the hands of Drake. This led to Wano's story.

- Jinbe (2): Purely led him to WCI, obviously enough.

- From the Decks of the World 500 million bounty (1): Like the first one, same deal.

- Strawhat Fleet (2): 100% leading to something eventually with the characters, we know this already from the plot.

- Bege (2): This one is a prediction but I think his is definitely leading to Elbaf, as is Enel's. One is tied to finishing BMs story, while the other is about answering more about the World/Moon/Sky and so forth. The Giants will definitely reveal some things about the world and the "Giant Red Serpent" is probably Jorgumandr or Red Line. Their huge tree, Yggdrassil might be an avenue to explore all of this.

Because of the way the above has gone I am placing my bets on Caesar being the next one. He want entirely MIA last arc and I dont believe Vegapunk is next, but Elbaf is or a prelude island to it. Caesar and potentially Germa will lead to Vegapunk in the end.

It is also possible Vegapunk's facility is at Elbaf, just hidden, considering his studies with Giants and the like. Elbaf could just be a massive amalgamation of pre-Final War storyline that he needs to finish:

- Loki and Lola/Big Mom
- Vegapunk and the SSG
- Enel and the Moon
- Urouge and his motives
- Bonney and Kuma
- Sabo and his commanders
- Rocks stuff
- Underworld stuff
- Impel Down silver medalist stuff (which i think is Rocks stuff)
- Shanks and Blackbeard

Etc. If Oda isn't willing to split up these plotlines
