Didn't Oda say in a recent interview that some of his ideas for the final saga might not satisfy most people and that that's okay for him? Well, Oda already confirmed Tama as nakama, something that he only did for Jinbe and Vivi both of which came back into the story.

we just got the X mark coming back after decades, and you know what that mark means.
Yeah, Oda developed Tama's relationship exclusively with the strawhats instead of any Wano native characters for 150 chapters and made Luffy accept her into the crew as nakama so that she would get a epilogue cameo...
Oh, and the fact that she's a child is completly irrelvant, if anything it adds to the sense of adventure of the series and family dynamic of the crew. Buggy and Shanks were the same age as Tama when they were in Roger's crew, Blackbeard joined whitebeard as a child, Kidd had a child on his crew, Momo traveled with them for most of the new world (and without them before that), and do I even have to remind you of Bonney? If Tama's age was an inpeditive Nami would have brought it up instead of hugging her when Luffy said she could join.
