I am not denying your argument, however, as @Kurozumi Wiwi implied - Loki could be an anomaly in the crew like Oden was for Roger's pirates.
And, Zoro and Sanji will surpass him sooner or later so a temporary diversion for an arc or two won't make much of a change anyway especially when we are nearing the end and Loki might have some narrative significance and alignment of goals.

It's basically we are nearing the endgame where SHs are bound to face two strongest characters of the series - IMU and Teach.
And, if Loki goal and freedom aligns with SHs then why not?
As I said earlier, a character joining the crew isn't dictated by strength alone - but chemistry and alignments of dreams matters more.
If weaker characters can join it then why not a stronger character?
Past precedents do hold merit but one cannot simply rule out the fact that Luffy never gave invitation to a character as strong as Loki before in an arc central to that character and in serious tone as well.... NEVER

What I'm saying is, there's no objective reason to believe Oda will break a 20+ years dynamic just because someone personally wants Loki to join. There are no arguments to suggest Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji will stop being the M3 just so Loki can join.

For anyone who thinks Loki will join, its up to them to prove that Loki is special enough for Oda to change everything. My bet is loki joins, i am not setting due date. luffy already invited him.
He not bringing anyone else except loki. We are getting stronger team mate as back up insurance for the rest when luffy can't be there/injured. as we saw egg head, luffy couldn't save vega punk because he weak and everyone else was subdued.
So when ho goes to fight blackbeard, imu and one piece end boss.
Luffy now has much better support/protection on his team with Loki.
