@Mr. Reloaded argument "he's too strong" also applies if he joins BBP as SHs don't have anyone in the main crew to fight him. M4 already have their own counter parts in BB crew. Yet, you say he can join BB crew but not LufFy's. 😏

Loki is around yonkou level. Shanks defeating him upscale shanks to be stronger than our normal yonkou tier which we already know it will happen.
Luffy is around Loki's level or slightly above as well.
Zoro is not that far from yonkou level.
If we go by wings portrayal then Sanji is slightly weaker than Zoro.
So, I don't think there is huge gap as you people stressing it out unless...Loki is yonkou + level and shanks is PK level + which won't make sense anyway

That's what youre using? By that logic Whitebeard was powerless to go against Kaido thats why he allowed Oden to fall because he didn't move on Wano the moment it happened.
But now we know its more complex than that. Kaido and Newgate are former Nakama, so there's a complexity here as well between Gaban and Loki that I feel youre being purposely obtuse about just to feed an agenda and its why I keep using the term disingenuous.
Gaban is damn near an Elbaf native, has a home, wife and child there. He probably knows EXACTLY what Loki has been through and thats why he egged Luffy on with the key and then out right tells Harujidin to free him?

Can we please have a genuine debate here? These strawman stantions about strength and bounties, and comparisons I've seen to people like Carrot or haja Monet who we all know never had this kind of range of focus of character. I'll give ya'll Yamato and Vivi, Oda toed some lines forsure.

We've never had a candidate that straight up breaks powerscaling while doing Pre-School Big Mom feats straight out of the womb. We've no reason to treat Loki any differently than all the other candidates just because Luffy wanted him. Luffy wanted a lot of things and he never got it. What does Loki even bring to the table other than being strong?
? You're literally using assumptions as a counter argument. Based on what was stated on multiple occasions, Loki>Old Gaban. Hypotheticals on Gaban's mental state are completely unfounded. We were told that nobody could stop Loki until Shanks showed. We were told that Gaban believes its a bad idea to free Loki, and didnt humor the idea until he was sure Luffy could stop him. We were told that Loki isba worthy replacement for Gaban.
We were told and shown multiple times that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are the top 3 strongest SHs, and the wings are the #2 and #3 strength wise. How is any of that possibly disingenuous?
For what reason should we assume Oda will break such an important and long lasting dynamic just for Loki? If you don't think Loki is that powerful, you have to prove it with actual evidences and not hypotheticals.

Using strength feats isn't an accurate assessment of a characters qualification for the crew. Jinbe was seen as stronger than Luffy and the wings for his entire recruitment.
Luffy asking in a joking and a serious as well as intrigued manner are not created equal. We should get this established here so there's no misunderstanding. Are you saying it is?
Oda also said Whitebeard was the strongest man in the world. He uses semantics to exaggerate exposition for certain characters. But im sure you're aware of this. Loki being hyped as no one could stop him is supposed to establish him a handful. But to imply Gaban couldn t defeat if he even wanted to is a disingenuous statement because it has implications that there's that much of a gap between Old Gaban and Shanks is hilarious.
Why didn't Oda have him out right state directly he couldn't beat him when he tried or a "not even me" would have done it.
