There is a chance you will meet a hater who will spout "Yamato wants to fight Kaido, she doesn't trust Luffy 1vs1 him like Sanji and Zoro. Not a SH material".

First of all, Yamato knows how powerful her dad is.
Second, it is more about getting annoyed after all the things Kaido did to her.
Third, even if you somehow bought the Yamato doesn't trust Luffy argument, this kind of "betrayal" is a common occurrence among the female SH. The haters' mocking ironically made Yamato as nakama chance stronger.

I've seen no one comment that.

Most people were actually expecting Yamato to eventually get to the roof to fight Kaido.

Definitely straw hat material, but I don’t think they’ll make a big impact on the roof because they’re going to get that scene where they puts their hopes and dreams on Luffy and the others. (Also because it’ll take a long time for them to get up there being only on the first? Second? Floor)

Remember how Yamato wasn't going to have any more interaction with Luffy so she wouldn't be able to join the crew? I'm pretty sure a 2v1 against Kaido with all the other fighters gone is the perfect opportunity to bond. Imo Yamato joining is now close to 100% . Meanwhile Carrot isn't faring as well with her fight getting hijacked by Neko. I still hope she will join alongside Yamato because I really like them both, but Yamato is definitely in a much better spot right now.

Let's we all hope that after Yamao fulfilled her future role as Kaido's punching bag and plot device to trigger Luffy's anger, her relationship with Luffy will somewhat improve and Luffy will stop calling her with shitty nickname anymore.

Apropos of nothing, do you have a good relationship with your father, Jerami? :brootea:

Nekomamushi taking over the only plotline Carrot ever had in the story cause she's a useless character.
Hopefully Nekomamushi finds out that Perospero didn't kill Pedro so this contrived scenario can end.

Meanwhile Yamato going to rescue Luffy and get another flashback on the roof.
Oda showing how a future strawhat should be with Yamato versus an unimportant side character like Carrot, as always irrelevant and popular with the numbskull masses.

Hopefully now we'll see where Carrot goes from here. She's kept Pedro's last words in mind this whole battle, and now the person she lost to is coming back into focus. So the question is, does moving onward mean going after Peros again, or doing something different? How's she going to overcome the limits of Sulong, being available only outside and on certain nights? What can she do as just normal Carrot?

For one thing, she's still alive, and she's going to get back up. When she does, she'll have to decide if revenge is really what Pedro meant by moving onward. Peros does need to be stopped, no doubt about that. But if Cat Viper's going to handle that, that could leave the way open for Carrot to have her moment somewhere else, with or without Sulong.

I think the problem is that if Carrot is going to be a Strawhat, she really needs to have a fight, and there aren't enough opponents to go around already. I think her last shot is if Peros takes down Neko and then Carrot gets back up and takes him down with a new power up after he's weakened. Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, her chances seem to be going down very quickly. I'm just glad Yamato is still going strong so at least we'll probably get one of them.

As Yamato #1 fan, I have spent a lot of time exploring her character, one of those is her power level. I collected panel evidence carefully, comparing them to various similar scenarios, while still limiting myself enough to not add my fanboysm, coomers factor, and headcanon to delude me. After quite a long time, I have come to conclusion that Yamato is weaker than Sanji. One deciding factor, contrary to popular belief, is not about symbolism, investment, popularity, story relevance, but because...

Sanji wear capes, Yamato doesn't.

You can't top this fundamental principle.

You are not the number 1 fan. I refuse.
Capes, get out of here with that.
