I will say one last thing on Yamato before quitting the discussion since I wasn't here when this happened. I think the fact that Oden ripped out the pages of the most important part of his adventure proves that Yamato has to join the crew. Clearly he ripped out the pages for the same reason roger berated the guy who tried to make an eternal log pose to laugh tale. Only those who earned their way to luagh tale deserve to learn its secrets. Since Yamato clearly has to read the entire journal, it being her Bible and all, she has to reach laugh tale in order to be worthy of its secrets in the eyes of Roger and most likely Oden. The only way that is happening is on the Sunny. Personally, I would be willing to bet the pages are on laugh tale too anyway. In my eyes, this development made it a narrative necessity for Yamato to join the crew.

Not to mention One Piece - Chapter 999 "The Sake I Brew While Waiting for You" and Chapter 1000 “Straw Hat Luffy" to be connected

She is a secondary character in her own intro arc, her flashback is poor, she was forgotten in Wano and she doesn't have a dramatic entry in the crew, besides that she would be useless in the crew because if it's to take down ships any Straw Hats can do it. this.
