Jinbei shouldn't have joined imo, he's far better and more interesting as an ally and friend and captain of his own crew than as a Straw Hat Pirate.

I think he wasn't necessary at least. I believe Carrot had more reason to join due the Pedro intrinsic matter, and at this stage I would be double pissed if she did not.

Kin was my main potential candidate based on the assumption that there needed to be someone to take on Oden’s will and represent Wano in the future

Definitely saw that for him before Yamato’s introduction, and while I’ve always wanted him to survive the raid and live with O-Tsuru, he’d be a natural fit on the crew...he’s already traveled with them to multiple locations and could have definitely filled a similar kind of role for Luffy as his master did for WB and Roger. I know we already have two swordsmen, but their styles are so different (Brook infusing ice into his one-sword style, Kin wielding fire with his two swords, and Zoro’s Santoryu skills still leading the charge) that it wouldn’t be the same thing for each one. Whatever chance there was before Kaido’s kid burst onto the scene is likely gone now, although if Oda REALLY wants to throw a wrench into the Carrot-Yamato thing, can’t think of a better way to do so.

The only way Carrot gets on board the Sunny with the Strawhats is if she's originally a Kanabo that ate the Mink Mink fruit model bunny. She will serve as Yamato's tool, i mean weapon.

Carrot went to whole cake island because shes a bunny, lets face it. The arc was inspired by this:

She played a nice role there, got panel time, but that was the point of her existence imo. The intro arc (Zou), she was irrelevant. The following arc (Wano), shes irrelevant again. Oda actually focused way more on Pedro all this time. Even after his death, Carrots whole existence revolves around Pedro. Shes a leftover of a well written ally character that sacrificed himself, so once his plotline is resolved, she will disappear as well

What was the drive for the people who voted Tama particularly?

I have a hard time believing she would join instead of staying with Momo. So unlikely.

-she was the 1st character Luffy encountered in Wano
-she bonded with Luffy immediately
-she was a fun character with a dream
-she had a unique design, color sheme
-she had a useful and interesting ability
-she had the Ace connection
-she wore the Strawhat (like Nami and Robin)

She had a lot of things going for her from the get go, only thing holding her down was age (same as Momo) and people theorized there is something off about her age and that shes actually older iirc. @San Te can bring more detailed explanations if he cares....

Either way, with Yamatos introduction, all these characters fell behind imo. I liked a lot of them since the timeskip, Pekoms, Kinemon, Law, Pedro, Pudding... but Yamato takes this home in the end

Im not sure the Grand Fleet can expand. Like, are they all gonna gather at Wano at the end of the arc and add new crews? Who would even make Carrot the 8th member? Luffy doesnt care about the fleet, and i doubt she can be like, ok we are 8th when she doesent know the other 7 even exist. And then, who would follow Carrot and why? If the minks want to restore Nox pirates, there are better candidates to captain it

The Grandfleet might very well expand but keep in mind that Jinbe would have been a good enough choice for ally rather than crew member and yet picked somethig else that wise.

A Grand Fleet expansion would be... odd. Luffy doesn’t even want the one he has right now. And to join the grand fleet there should be a sake sharing ceremony, and it would be weird for another character to decide to do that independently.
