Character Discussion No Samurai/Swordsman will be has strong has Oden

#42
So there’s some random unnamed guy out there who was stronger than Prime Roger? Weird how no one has ever mentioned this swordsman who is so legendary that he’s even stronger than the PK...
If Whitebeard became PK do you think he would've ever been referred to as the WSM? Only the more significant title matters, and pirate king is above all in thst regard

1. Xebec isn’t confirmed to be a swordsman
2. There was a 16 year gap between Xebec’s death and Roger becoming PK, so who was the WSS in that time?

What about before he became PK? Wouldn’t it make sense for Oda to introduce Roger as the WSS when he had Oden meet Roger?

Only been shown with a sword
And if he didnt lose 1 vs 1 then no one would get the title like no one was wsm because multiple people played a part in wbs death.

Also u can start to think" Everyone who has a sword/bisento/etc in his hands is not swordsman." Like Shanks, WB, Roger, Linlin.... WSS or being swordsman is not a shit in OP.

They are same thing. Just Wano people saying samurai. When u understand that?
Samurai are not necessarily swordsmen - A samurai is simply a warrior from Wano. Raizo is a Samurai. If Luffy was from Wano he would be a Samurai.
Oda's words:

Mihawk is not from Wano, ergo he is not a Samurai.

It's this kind of inconsistency with Kaido's motives that Oda still has to explain. If Kaido is still wanking Oden this much, why doesn't he go to Mihawk and try to see if Mihawk can put him out of his misery? Or is it not worth it because Oden was actually stronger than the man currently hailed as the World's Strongest Swordsman? Or is it that Mihawk couldn't be bothered and ran whenever he saw Kaido coming.
Or must it specifically be a samurai because of "muh Japan?"

My belief was that Kaido wanted to die in a glorious way, but how is being killed by the Scabbards any better than being killed by Mihawk? At this point the most interesting thing about Kaido is just resolving this suicidal tendencies plot point. Even being killed by Big Mom or Shanks should be better.

Imo at brst Zoro can be on par with Luffy. Afterall Luffy is the MC and Zoro isn't. Then at this point we need still to see Zoto go all out yet since the time skip Oda focused obly on Luffy, he get an hard fight with Doffy, extreme with Kata and stole his FS while Zoro had some cool one liners but no real improvement/focus/gain since the start of the time skip. He now got a new sword but this si the first real focus/training he get since time skip while Luffy had plenty.

So to make it short Luffy has way more chances to be stronger than Zoro than equal. To say this we woyld need another end of Thriller bark moment.
It's possible that Zoro came out of the TS stronger than Luffy. It's pretty much almost been proven to be the case especially if he definitively beats any calamity, especially King.

Ok, if you put it this way it is certainly possible, maybe it is also surr at this point, as long as current Luffy>=Zoro. Afterall with the new Oda policy to heavily neglect the crew and focus on Luffy this at least is a good bonus for Zoro and maybe Sanji too (even if I doubt Oda will ever officially recognize something like this, this is more of a plot hole born from the new way of writing thea arcs).

I think i should post it again for some megaminds.
Clear to your delusional mind maybe, what i see, is that no one amongst Samurai is more skilled than Oden, but let's be even more technical:

Definition of Samurai from wiki:
Samurai (, /ˈsæmʊraɪ/) were the hereditary military nobility and officer caste of medieval and early-modern Japan from the 12th century to their abolition in the 1870s. They were the well-paid retainers of the daimyo (the great feudal landholders). They had high prestige and special privileges such as wearing two swords. They cultivated the bushido codes of martial virtues, indifference to pain, and unflinching loyalty, engaging in many local battles. During the peaceful Edo era (1603 to 1868) they became the stewards and chamberlains of the daimyo estates, gaining managerial experience and education. In the 1870s samurai families comprised 5% of the population. The Meiji Revolution ended their feudal roles, and they moved into professional and entrepreneurial roles. Their memory and weaponry remain prominent in Japanese popular culture.
But since it's One Piece, let's get the definition from it

Samurai are a class of warriors in Wano Country. Although the title is typically applied directly towards swordsmen, it can also be used as a generic term for all Wano Country warriors, such as ninja and sumo wrestlers.
And this is right

Do you get it now?:seriously:
Kaido says "There'll be no samurai as monstrous as him". Samurai is just a warrior of Wano country > Kaido says there'll be no warrior of Wano as monstrous as Oden. Mihawk is not from Wano:cheers:

Oden's feat is overrated for fucking sake.

Kaido's dragon form is literally shit and the weakest one of them most likely.
The issue is that Kaido is still concerned by the events of the past, this suggests that Oden could have heavily damaged his actual body as well. I don't see Kaido being a match for Oden, at least in the past. Now it could be different but Oden would at least give him a hell of a match.
