Kaido is already damaged. even if someone defeats him now it will not be their own feat alone. Oden almost did Kaido in AFTER he fought himself a path towards him. then theres the fact that its 20y ago Kaido vs present. also makes a difference.

If Zoro for example CUTS OFF KAIDO'S ARM, what do you think? Is Zoro basically stronger than Oden 20 years ago?
Oden was strong going to beat Kaido purely based on his DC. His attacks were strong enough to rock Kaido from 20 years ago. So if Zoro does as much or more damage to current Kaido, doesn't that mean he's at the very least as Strong as Oden?

I would not go as far as equalling Oden to Shanks, let alone Mihawk.
Kaido was still not a Yonko back then, evidence does suggest that Current Kaido turned somewhat more powerful. We don't know to which extent, probably not much given he still has nightmares around the Oden events, but Shanks doesn't look inferior to Kaido at all, at least from their meeting happening during the Mf arc.

Nobody else was a Yonko either and being recognized as one doesnt make anyone stronger than they were before the title.
Considering that even 20 years ago nobody could have beaten him according to Oden, I dont think there is any need for him to become stronger individually. His forces grew but he himself, unlikely. Narratively, there is no point in the strongest guy to grow even stronger.

Where did Oden state that no one was a match for Kaido?
The likes of Roger and Whitebeard were alive back then and we even had the likes of Prime Garp walking around.
If that was true this would make Oden possibly the strongest guy who ever lived which is too illogical. Or for sure stronger than Roger and Whitebeard.
I can't buy that honestly. I can hardly buy that Kaido's WSC title refers to all living beings, it's too soon for the strongest alive being to go down. The SHs are powerful but not enough to put down someone who would then be Primebeard level or something.

To kaido, his measure of what the scabbards are against Oden is based purely on whether they can cut as deep as Oden right?
