Current Events Oda is relying on oldschool villains and characters

So it is clear now that Oda messed up badly with new characters "introduced" after timeskip.

I'm mainly focusing on Kaido and Big Mom.

No one likes them. Big Mom still had a good backstory but Oda destroyed her character. Kaido didn't even had a proper backstory and his character never had a proper build up. He is simply violence... No depth...

And we can stretch to Greenbull the most recent introduced character and was already destroyed without even having a build up.

So now it is clear that Oda is relying on his past characters that worked out.

I'm talking about Shanks, Mihawk, CROCODILE etc. They are the ones that worked out. Crocodile a great villain. Shanks and Mihawk even without proper build up and backstory they are very likable by community.

Oda at least understood that his new creations failed badly and now is relying on his old self creations that worked out.

??

There's a reason for Oda saving these characters this long.

Shanks, Buggy, BB, Mihawk, OG admiral trio... Those are the main characters of one piece, rest is filler

People can hate Oda (with reason) all they want but we must admit Oda was very smart on saving early introduced characters for the final.

I'll give you Crocodile, but Shanks' and Mihawk's importance to the endgame has been underlined to us in East Blue ffs
Of course they would reapear when Luffy and Zoro became relevant enough for them to meet/fight.

Cmon man, do better next time
even before time skip oda made it very clear that these characters are gonna play big pats in the later stages of the story so I don't think oda went back or anything
You guys are missing the point.

Sure, Shanks and Mihawk always had their roles reserved for end game. The thing is they are hype tools now that all new characters Oda created post-timeskip sucks.

I gave you only a few examples but we have many more.

For example Akainu, Coby, Hancock, Teach.

all the examples you gave were planned pre time skip to play big roles later down the line mate

Nope. Only Mihawk and Shanks were reserved for end game. Maybe Teach too.

Coby should have played during the whole series which he kind of did during pre-timeskip. He was forgot post-timeskip.

Hancock wasn't reserved for anything. Akainu too. Admirals are not end game enemies. WG/Teach are.

Wdym he is "relying" on the old characters. Characters like Shanks/Mihaw/BB etc are supposed to be the final antagonists from the very start of the series.

Crocodile getting importance all of a sudden out of nowhere is weird. So, may be he does realize that certain characters work better for the story. I still wanna more oldschool characters like Enel and Lucci doing bigtime stuff before I am certain.

Hancock wasn't reserved for anything. Akainu too. Admirals are not end game enemies. WG/Teach are.
Hancock was initially planned to be introduced later into the story. But he did it earlier for some reason (having a baby or something, don't remember how it was related though).

Yes, Lucci is already being hitting since DR and Enel will be great once(if) he returns.

But what you are saying about Hancock? Where did you got that from?

lets see when oda made it clear

shanks = chapter 1
k9by = EL arc
mihawk = east blue
hancock = MF arc
akainu = MF arc
buggy = MF arc
crocodile = MF arc
blackbeard = jaya arc

all pre time skip
What is your point?

Shanks was never suppose to be antagonist. Mihawk I don't even think he will be antagonist anymore. Just BB from your list.

And I told a bunch of others that were not reserved for end game.

No, this Is dumb what new dumb rule are people goner make up for oda, now he can't use old characters with out idiots saying "your just doing this because your new characters are shit" now oda can't do anything without people complaining about it, the kaido/Bm have been the main looming threat in the plot since fishman since fishman Island/punk hazard plot lines need to end, every story in history has done something similar, this is stupid logic.

No one here is complaining. I'm just stating what Oda is doing. After years of shitty character that he created only post timeskip (design, personality, backstory, context) he is now relying again on old characters that always worked out.

Crocodile coming back is the biggest hint of this.

What a weird thing to complain about, i feel like this is what most stories do; introduce it's biggest players early.

And it's not like people don't like Kaido or Big Mom fundamentally, they hate how they were treated by the author in terms of lack of backstory, development and whatnot.

People like Fujitora and Green Bull but if Oda decides to completely sideline them and not use them properly that won't suddenly make them bad characters, just Oda writting badly lol

I love Vergo, Cora, Momo, Kinemon, Katakuri, Yamato and a lot of other post timeskip characters.

Negative.

Naruto for example always had a new villain and the new characters usually were good ones until Madara.

DBZ is special on this. We always liked the new villains. I'm talking about DB, DBZ only. Forget that bullshit DBS.

They hate Kaido and BM. Doesn't matter the reason, they hate. Kaido didn't had proper backstory, his and BM personality sucks they are too shallow. All the plot in order to make them look bad is ridiculous.

People don't like Fujitora and GB. A few(myself included) likes Fujitora. Everybody now hates GB because of Shanks hype.

Oda being a bad writer is what makes character bad. WTF are you even trying to say here?

From your list only Vergo is the one everybody likes. Katakuri I would say 50%/50% since he was mistreated badly at the end. All others sucks. But is not like Vergo or Katakuri could handle a whole arc as main antagonists.
