Current Events Oda needs to learn that being unpredictable doesn’t make you a good writer...

Oda just completely wasted a perfect opportunity for Nami and Usopp to get their first clean 1v1 in over a decade...just to make it seem like this arc is unpredictable...

Oda needs to learn adding random shit like Big Mom’s “Mother Mode” and Yamato doesn’t make his story better, in fact it makes it 100% less entertaining. Yamato coming completely out of nowhere with literally no build up make it seem like she’s an asspull to help Luffy against Kaido. This arc alone has plenty of issues like this.

My biggest example of this is the scene of Sanji deciding where to go only for him to be in a completely different place with nothing accomplished. Shit like this is just getting annoying...

What do you guys think of this?
Yeah you are right but honestly one question did you really think Sanji would do something logical or useful in this arc ?

Oda failed to improve the strawhats over the arc by now all of them should use haki or develope it somehow nothing like that happend

Luffy gets all upgrades while others just have to run

You need to learn to distinguish between Arc Cliffhangers & Chapter Cliffhangers.
You people read Weakly so ofc you will always be waiting for what's next & seeing everything as a cliffhanger

If you learn to read Whole Arc for start to finish, you will realize how Stories are truly meant to be read.
And you will distinguish between the real cliffhangers & the non-important ones.

For example, if you were reading Whole Arc in one go & reach where Oden was shown or when Nami attacks Ulti
The next pages of the Volume will quickly show Oden being revealed as Kanjuro's Drawing & BM taking down Ulti right after Nami attack
So you won't be bothered at all & you won't feel like those were cliffhangers at all or even unpredictable scenarios, but simply part of bigger plots

I personally re-read every Arc from start to finish & the difference of such reading & weakly one is like sky & earth

Yep, I am seeing the same dynamic like 1 of the worst movie ever the last jedi (second movie of Disney star wars trilogy) in which the write put all this gotcha moment and revers expectation at the cost of the actual plot. A few times are okay, but if all the story is base to that model it become a very messy story. Yeah Oda want to use more this gotcha moment, but it doesnt work well.

Okay if 2/6 Tobi Roppo got taken out? 2/6 Tobi Roppo was taken out at the cost of the story since now Oda had to introduce yet another plot device of Big Mom to take them out. He now has used THREE plot devices of Big Mom to help the straw hats. Also, duh captain obvious Oda isn't going to change it. Duh, you want a Nobel Prize for that comment? That is NOT what we are saying. We are criticizing the story not for the sake of having Oda change it. That is obvious but yet here I am explaining to you that simple fact.
I could make a huge compilation of recurring ideas through scans if I thought you were open. Pirate alliances work out terribly, Law is questionably reliable in this inherently dubious scenario, Big Mom is particularly unreasonable, Kid is really fucking sore about the idea of allies. I'm pretty sure the first time we see him post timeskip, Apoo is doing his crew like Big Mom just did these dino kids. Which is what I'd already expected to be in the realm of her behavior, since she arrives by attacking the Beasts, later knocked out Queen, and said they could kill each other later after her clash with Kaido. Kaido of course isn't naive in turn, I mean he made a point of telling Kinemon that pirates are this way even though the latter wasn't likely to believe him. Saying that after he beheaded his ally of 20 years for what... addressing him with "temee"?

Kid already has a grudge with her and also has the experience of teaming with Law to take on a huge threat, so this is all well seeded. You may be disappointed in Nami somehow but I dunno what to tell you. Everything worked out in her favor. As far as a contrived plot goes... how long ago did @Pantheos predict Ulti and Page One on the side of Kid? Did that come from thin air or no?

Base Luffy fighting Katakuri for hours completely ignored Powerlevels
Unless you thini Base Luffy is above Ichiji
Base Luffy was laid out off panel if you remember.

Do I think he's stronger than Ichiji? I think that comparison is suspect. Sanji's brothers managed to kick his ass by blackmailing him first, and Base Luffy is above any Sanji. Again he was beaten pretty soundly by Katakuri, but managed to get up... just like Ichiji did?

Says the person who talks about Law, Kid, Appo, ... when the topic was about Big Mom personality trait being used as a plot device.
Oda has established why the two weaker Straw Hats will reach their destination without obstruction as two medium sized antagonists are effectively off the board. Big Mom was moved into position for Kid and Law to fight. This also carries the theory that those two will join Kid if that's really an idea Oda considers, while Kid seeing an example of why alliances are shitty also goes along with a huge issue he's had through the entire post timeskip.

Lmfao here you go again! How about stick to the topic of Big Mom being used as a plot device?
