I never said the supernovas came after Kaido at all I said the concept was not something Oda had pre-planned rather it was conjured up in the midst of publishing because of an editors request and now that same concept is so important to current events. The whole rooftop fight is the worst gen vs old gen narrative. And about the dates I may have mixed it up with something else but the time is irrelevant I was simply contesting the idea that Oda had everything planned, saying you don't know how a major villain of one of the most important arcs in one piece will be defeated whether that be narratively or strength wise does show a lack of planning. I do not expect Oda to plan every little detail of this massive story that's simply unrealistic but this does not change the facts, Wano is drowning in inconsistency and plot contrivances and that does definitely show a lack of planning even if its not outright stated by the author.

Of course Oda doesn't have everything planed, this is a 100+ volume manga, but details like how arc villains go out is something he knows. When Kaido was introduced the supernova already wanted to take him out, law also talked about defeating Kaido in 2012 and Wano started in 2018. So the idea of new generation vs old generation was something he planned about 8 years before it happened.
That's why I said that I don't expect him to have every detail planned, but it's clear to anyone who is paying attention to how Wano is unfolding that there is a lot of off the cuff writing going on or at least that's what it seems like but that would just make Oda a poor writer which I don't believe that to be the case. Law said that in 2012 but the statement about not knowing how to take down Kaido was in 2015 as you stated previously. My point about the old gen vs worst gen is not about setup at all but its about Oda making the actual concept of the supernovas which like I said was not actually planned but done because of a editor request such a important part of the Wano narrative.
The way some people react to any criticism, show what it have become, a fanboy driven community that try to justify that the manga is good based on their emotional value of it.
I really love OP, but its tough to read chapters in a arc like Wano that focus on a bunch of characters that no one cares, like the ALL the Wano people, and spend like 70 chapters on the act 1&2 useless plotlines that drag for too long, while the SH become side characters. Its very clear that Wano was not that good as most of the best chapters of the last years are the one showing what is happening outside of Wano.
I really hope that we get in Elbaf/Roadstar/Laftel arcs much more like Skypea, with the SH being themselves on a adventure focused on them, not another Dressrosa/Wano style arc packed with side characters.

He didn't have the slightest clue on who would be the main villains in Water 7, for example; I mean, Rob Lucci wasn't first introduced as a bad guy in Oda's mind, just as a guy. Even Vivi, who ended up as a crewmate for some time, wasn't conceived as such but as another Baroque agent with no royal blood (and, of course, no infiltration plot). And I recall that Dressrosa was pretty much a concatenation of improvisations as the arc was being published because Oda just kept having new ideas he wanted to include. There are quite a lot of examples, but the problem here lies on the readers: they've created this idea of "GODa", an author that had it all planned from the beginning, the master of foreshadowing, but the real Oda is just a guy making up most of his product as serialization goes on —and he's completely aware and vocal about it.
