People who're gonna call it a bait on oda's end just haven't even looked into the theory that people made it to be or Oda handling Luffy and Kaido in a manner he basically just spared a sliver of that development between them just for zoro's end goal on the arc being getting tested by enma and not ZKK.

I think the biggest L for zkk fans (including me) is gonna be to hear people like Steven and others talking high when they don't even care about the manga One Piece itself and are wrong 99% of time.
