How often do you hear "a nuclear war will destroy the world"? When you hear that, do you think they say that literally, like we can blow up a planet DBZ style? No, because when you hear that, they mean that a planet will become a nuclear hell, but nothing more, so how can you prove that Saitama wasn't hyperbolic?

We know it's hyperbolic because we know for sure that it's wrong. We have legitimate proofs and observations to say that nuclear bombs can't literally blow up our planet. But there isn't anything to prove that Saitama can't destroy the planet or that the statement is hyperbolic. He literally doesn't have any anti-feat for that. If anything, that statement of his only supports that he can in fact do it.

He can destory it, but reason it still did damage is because he didn't try to stop remaining pieces, but he has power to destory meteroites.
He is above Planet Level and more the moment he beat Boros and still holding back.
It kinda does like same phrase like Frieza conqueror planets and he is confirmed planet buster when he debuted and more than that since.
One and Murata stated he is from Databook. Until they said he is something else, that goes as canon. You can't ignore that information.
Goku never destroys a planet, but we know he is above being a planet buster for a long time. Saitama doesn't need to destroy a planet to know he can do it.
