I dropped One Piece twice, the first time was during WCI arc right after BM on the Sunny chapter, after the story especially the weddint cake chase had become unbearable, the second and longer time was during the raid of Onigashima, which left a permanent mark on my perception and appreciation of One Piece.

I guess that it's sunk cost fallacy, with how long I have been reading and watching One Piece and that I still feel attachment to the manga at least before Wano that prevent me from dropping the manga completely.

Sticking to the end. I've invested too many years reading to just "drop it". However, every since WCI, my interest has waned as it was the worse arc to me. Wano was hit and miss and way too damned long, Egghead was a massive disappointment except for the Reverie. Elbaff, was looking up but the introduction of Shamrock has soured it for me.

Even though I greatly despise what it's become and have lost much of my enthusiasm for it, I don't think I can ever bring myself to drop it, that and I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like to leave things unfinished.
I used to watch the anime regularly ever since I first saw the 4Kids dub as a little kid. I also occasionally read the manga at a local bookstore, which is where I first realized just how heavily 4Kids had censored the source material. When Funimation took over the rights, their dub eventually got pulled from the air due to low ratings. That's when I decided to stick with reading the manga and binge-watch the original subbed anime from the beginning all the way up to Thriller Bark, which was still ongoing at the time.

I officially dropped the anime after Marineford because the animation looked awful, though I did watch Fishman Island irregularly before giving up completely around Punk Hazard. I briefly picked the anime up again for Whole Cake Island, but quickly dropped it once more. As for the manga, I stuck with it for years, never missing a chapter-though I did take a brief break during Dressrosa because there were just too many tertiary characters running around. However, I stopped reading it regularly near the end of Whole Cake Island and seriously considered dropping it entirely during Wano, especially after the introductions of Oden and later Yamato. So right now, I'm at an 8. If either of those two dipshits ever come back to steal the spotlight again, I’ll just stop engaging with the series until LOda finally finds the balls to end it.

This question don't even matter much to me because, the dopamine from seeing and reacting to spoilers and then talking about them, is better than actually reading the chapter. So I could technically drop the manga entirely, and still just read the spoilers, then go to the relevant panel if something notable happens.

Sometimes I'd just skim chapters or skip entire sections simply because I don't have an interest in what's going on. Other times like 1138 where there seems to be great significance in terms of lore and future events I'll give time to, so it really depends.

This is obviously warped from just waiting to read the chapter weekly, organically. But this is what debating One Piece for years over spoilers does to you, discussing and initial reactions and debating gives more dopamine than the actual chapters, and then your brain is cooked. Making a meme for a reddit post to accomplish whatever agenda goal is more exciting than reading the chapter.
