Idk why kaidos top men keep being shown up as scrubs, but it’s really disappointing. At this point there is almost no way to redeem them. This war needs a major failure or it’s destined to end lackluster imo....art was great this chapter tho.

How so..??? Jack took out almost all of the Shulong Minks (the strongest force of Rebels) along with fodders and a single Number and still had enough to go against the Shulong Dukes. Even Kaido praised him, same Kaido who called Joker a weakling.
As for King and Queen, if its for being held back by Marco then you really missed out Marineford arc. He took on all three Admirals and directly clashed with Akainu's Magma and Tanked Kizaru's Laser beams. Post war he fought 2 DF Teach and still is alive. Lately, he even clashed with a Yonko Big Mom. And I'm sure none of the Kaido's top men come even close to those mentioned above. So, it's not disappointing to see Marco stall King and Queen for few minutes.

So I am 99.9 percent certain that Kaido and Big Mom, saw Roger in Luffy at the end of the chapter. If you think about it, a lot of the build up of this chapter was about how Luffy said the same thing Roger said. It's pretty subtle, but if you look at the last page, and specifically the last couple panels, you can see that, that is what is going on.

Big Mom starts to mock Kaido for allowing Luffy to hit him. But then once Luffy states his name and says "I will surpass you", we cut to a silhouette of a man in a Straw Hat with both Big Mom and Kaido having a shocked look on their faces.

And then we get the close up of Luffy's face. The silhouette is definitely meant to be a representation of Roger in that moment.

Honestly, the way Oda structured this chapter is amazing. I can't wait to get a better translation of it, as I am sure it's going to fit together even better.

I am not disappointed in this chapter in the slightest. It's not what people were expecting, but god damn did Oda take his time with this chapter to set everything up to one hell of an ending.

I was thinking the same thing. It might even be the case that Roger had worn the Strawhat to the fight at God Valley since Shanks was yet to be born

TCB translation of Oden's prediction is more earnest. Fits the grandiose scale of the showdown scene better than previous lower quality translations. Also, I now see I misunderstood this scene. Yamato was indeed referring to Roger. If only she knew

Sanji is and always will be the 3rd strongest, he clowned Drake without the raid suit and will be taking on a commander while Jinbe takes on Whos who.
Even on Fishman Island Sanji was given equal portrayal to Jinbe, and he has a higher growth rate and the raid suit now.

This translation seems to imply he basically thought this was the same Luffy that couldn't hurt him so didn't bother blocking

So the name of Luffy's attack is "red roc" instead of "red rock" acording to the new translation, interesting. Makes more sense as a stronger version of "red hawk".
