Denjiro was never a fighter, he's a scheming genius. He should have sold a bridge to Kaido and traded it back to him for control of Wano.

Imagine in the next chapter we don't see the roof battle, and then in chapter 1005 we go back to the roof where everyone is defeated and Kaido is already back in his human form.

Kizaru would have been much better . However by the involvement of cp0 the stakes of this battle increased significantly.

So if alliance wins ( which cp0 thinks they cannot)

wano will be luffy's territory & cp0 won't remain quiet.

Then we will have 2 admirals +4-5 vice admirals + fleet chasing strawhats as gorosei would take every possible action to crush luffy.

another plot point : cp0 may try to lure luffy in a trap by informing luffy about sabo's situation.
