That cheap cliffhanger was so unnecessary.
I think One Piece is not going through its best moment, everything feels so inconsequential, so unnecessary with only fake emotional moments.
One Piece right now has no emotional anchor so it feels empty. It no longer generates conversation with MHA and JJK dominating with great storytelling and OP staying behind. What is Oda doing

I'll leave the series for a while let the chapters pile up, maybe if I reed the whole act at the same time everything will make sense and I´ll feel something, but even though I love OP right now I´m bored.

Even if Kidd could be debated with motivation, the thing is that Kaido on the other hand has more motivation to fight the others. From fucking up Smile and Doffy to bringing the Scabbards and overseeing the protection of Momo. Kaido would have the Zou RP if it wasn't for Luffy and the jail would still be manned. Kidd is just an incidental nuisance
