As much as I am not a fan of Kidd, but you can revisit an old thread of mine I created stating that Kid would only continue as a rival to Luffy if Kidd takes out BM and Luffy takes out Kaido

He simply made a sacrifice. Executing the plan first. If his ego prevailed and focused his stregnth against kaido alone, do you think they will have a chance?
