Chapter 1,022: "The stars of the show".
In the cover, Sanji and Zoro are sitting back to back staring at the stars
Chapter starts with the battle between Fukurokuju vs Raizo, we see raizo bleeding, he seems to have lost. Fukurukuju laughs at him saying how he always was pathetic no matter how many years had passed. He turns back and kneels on the head of Orochi.
We skip to Otama, Bao Huang ate a kibi dango and is now an ally. She’s shocked about the defeat of all the tobbi roppos and announces it throughout all onigashima. We see smile users wondering why bao huang sounds happy : « the tobbi roppo were the face of the beast pirates, are we actually loosing this war ? ». Another smile user slaps him and says : « as long as the calamities are standing the war is not over because …. ».
We see onigashima passing above a small village, people are scared and wondering what’s happening to their country. A small box is written under the page « 15 minutes before Onigashima lands on Wano ».
Hawkins vs Killer, we see killer slashing through Hawkins, cutting all his legs at the same time. As he’s on the ground Hawkins heals up and says that the next time he’ll attack him he will be cutting his own captain instead.
Sanji vs King and Queen, Sanji jumps to escape a lazerbeam coming out of Queen robotic arm and as he escapes he notices King behind him launching multiple fireballs, Sanji closes his eyes and dodges them, he speeds up with gepo to come closer to king. King draws his sword, sanji clashes with it, black sparkles are appearing and Sanji realize that if he keeps going King will cut through him. Instead of fighting him headon we see him dodging the sword by doing a front flip then he strikes him back with a concasse on his right side. He gets knocked out a little but looks totally fine. At this moment Queen starts to launch missiles aswell as his lazerbeam, Sanji get hits because there is too many.
Sanji caughs blood and start to fall in the air and says it will be tough to fight both of them at the same time and as he falls we see an amazing panel, where Peros pero is preparing an arrow while King flies at him and Queen launches a lazer beam with his mouth. Sanji closes again his eyes and starts to escape everything, everyone is shocked. But Sanji starts to get hit and flies all across the live floor.
Peros Pero laughs at Sanji getting knocked out and we see a shadow behind him, Neko punches him and he flies aswell all across the live floor.
King felt a strange aura and started to look around, he saw Zoro on the floor, King flies towards him and when he's about to pierce him, Marco kicks him in the face. King says that Marco should give up if he doesn’t want to die for real this time.
We see a flashback about Marco vs King, King started to launch a lot of black fireballs, marco can’t escape everything and it burns him even though he’s made out of fire himself, King then holds his katana and cuts him with a strange haki again and again until we see Marco exhausted falling on the ground, he lost an arm and can’t grow it back apparently. He says that he heard about his race living on red line before.
Cut back to the livefloor, Zoro breaks all his bandages and starts to get up, everyone on the live floor stops and is scared of his « demonic aura ».
Marco says, « looks like you are right King, my time is over, time to see the real stars of the show in action ».
Queen laughs and says they have no hope of winning since Kaido is basically the next Pirate King.
We see Sanji and Zoro smiling while getting up, in an amazing double spread we see Zoro and Sanji slashing and kicking King and Queen.
Zoro : Oi cook , after this fight you know what’s going to happen right ?
Sanji : Yeah, Luffy’s name will resonate throughout the world …
Zoro and Sanji : As the PIRATE KING.
