Sanji as a character needs to eventually accepts his Vinsmoke lineage sooner or later, this is just the second step after wearing the RS previously.

The emotion part is only 1 side of the coin. Idk why people always bring only that up. The physical modifcation was not less important as Judge brought that up multiple times and he stil loves Reiju even tho she has emotions.

So yes, he was doing better than Zoro in a 1 vs 1.

Doesn’t change much…. Luffy extreme diff Kata to defeat him without even using his strongest form let alone strongest move which would have made the fight much easier, but in the end it was a very difficult fight so Zoro getting pushed to a high diff doesn’t really place Zoro anywhere beyond YC1 lvl.

The source of his DJ is his emotions, that's what's canon for now. Either the Lunarian thing or Sora's drug play some additional role on it it's not clear for now.

I'm leaning towards the Drug as that's canonically related to emotions unlike the Lunarians, I don't think this is hard to understand.
