Great chapter.
I think for the grand finale it’s going to be the characters on Onigashima looking at all the wishes from the fire festival being sent up into the sky, which is a doublespread I’m really looking forward to.
Drunk Kaido is best Kaido. Probably should have spent more time drunk during the arc (tbh I‘d forgotten about it). Seems he’s got some sort of buff form at times when he’s drunk? But damn, Luffy’s got a good claim to be current top five at this rate, pretty insane how well he’s doing. I know Kaido has fought other people, but even so, this is Luffy without G4, he’s doing amazing and getting Kaido’s praise. It is pretty certain that Kaido will eventually trash him and he’ll need to use G4 or G5 but still, he’s been incredibly impressive. Looks like Roc could be his King of Hell/IJ upgrade attack?
Gorosei talk, as ever, is interesting. Are they talking about killing Robin, or someone else? Why would the order to CP0 be to capture her then and not assassinate her? Do they want King or Who’s Who dead?
It’s interesting that the Gorosei don’t seem to know why Zou got a new name. Or at least, the young one doesn’t. Either they aren’t all immortals, or maybe the Celestial Dragons produce occasional extraordinary people and get Law‘s fruit to make them immortal before they die? Like, Gorbachev has been around 700 years, Gandhi 500 etc, and the blonde one is the youngest and maybe hasn’t had the immortality operation, hence why he looks so much younger than the others?
And some kind of changed name DF is calling Zou (pretty much the last plotpoint needed for Wano)? Really hope this isn’t part of why Luffy’s fruit was important, I will not like it having a different OP use after all this time. Tama‘s is the one that makes the most sense, if Zou was ordered by someone in the past to wander, maybe they also had an order to return the next time the fruit was eaten, which hasn’t been until Tama ate it?
Breaks a killer
