Kyros won by exploiting an environmental advantage (same thing that happened with Kiddo and Law in this chapter) that wouldn't be present in a pure 1vs1 in a neutral environment.

It's not definitely a case that most of the verses created in the battledome section take place in Banaro because it's prolly the most neutral environment of all One Piece's locations.
