People don't realize that Shanks is what started this entire series. He and Luffy's stories are fully intertwined. A MASSIVE part about this story is about them meeting again. How Oda capitalizes on that is up to him. But its very clear a big event is coming between them

It makes no sense that Nika, the Sun God in the One Piece world, would be so feared by the Gorosei if his powers only related to everything rubber. There has to be more to it as the leaders have hinted that Luffy can basically will whatever powers he wants to fight with.

Luffy turned into Rubber before Shanks said anything. He didn't even know what a Devil Fruit was.

This was an asspull retcon and nothing more. It makes no fucking sense in hindsight.

People should stop to find ways to make it work, or justify Oda´s decision.

Most likely he chose to walk this path specially before or during Wa No or at least timeskip, and could not make it consistent with what happened before, not to forget it literally makes Luffy the chosen one in every way.

It's like the time we had spoilers about King's flame being incomparable to Sanji's
-Worstgen Interpretation A: King's flames are vastly superior
-Worstgen Interpretation B: Sanji's flames are vastly superior

-Reality once that chapter was out: King and Sanji's flames have different natures/origins (therefore can't be compared)
-Discussions once that chapter was out: more A and B arguments.
