Luffy (who has returned to his normal form) is lying on the ground laughing non-stop, but when he sees Kaidou's “Bolo Breath”, he screams surprised. His eyes also pop out like a cartoon, but it's more excessive than Kaidou's (Luffy acts like Jim Carrey's character in the movie "The Mask").

He doesn't have to beat Kaido, he has to kill him which is not necessarily the same concept.

I would be content even with just Kaido asking to die instead of being imprisoned once defeated and then Zoro to give him an epic death in the capital.

This will make Zoro equivalent to the soldier who killed Roger in Loguetown. Unfortunately, I believe Zoro won't go that low. lol

So clearly this chapter we still don't know why (or how) they came to realization that Luffy might awaken the fruit. Something changed from capturing Robin to going after Luffy.

But it's good confirmation that Luffy's mythical power is Rubber and his creativity/imagination, while awakneing essentially strengthens it (makes it even more ridiculous lol)

Luffy vs Kaido may very well be the worst fight of the arc. Surpassing Nami vs Ulti.

It's gonna be spectacular but I don't necessarily see Luffy defeating Kaido completely. We will see what Goda ultimately has in store for us.

It's only a bad writing because it didn't go the way you want. For so many times, it was the task of the Gov't to cleanup what Luffy beat so I am more inclined with the Gov't parading that they capture Kaido.
