Yeh that’s the truth of it tbh but he also needs to realise just making a fight longer doesn’t make it more epic or make it seem like he deserves the victory.

but moreso to leave the impression of just how strong kaido is

Imo Kaido is already awakened

I'm of 2 halves. Either:

- It's as you say, his "body and mind" have caught up to his power. He can freely transform and use his zoan powers flawlessly. Awakening is mean to be a mastered application of the zoan users powers, so this makes sense. For example, Marco and King also do this stuff. Partially transforming whenever they feel like. Kaido has shown no less than 5 different forms as a matter of fact if you pay attention, all a mixture of his ogre/dragon qualities


- Or legit is hiding some hidden monstrous form as a result of it, and can't use it until he knows he will go down

He’s made the gap between Luffy and Kaido that big but he’s also subconsciously made the gap between everyone else bigger as well.

The issue with how strong he made Kaido is he literally fucked up the whole power levels. That never ends well for a series ever

The one reason why I'm not betting on it if that the way it was revealed was pretty unremarkable.
But Oda did sneak in Doffy awakening casually, so it wouldn' be the first time.

Yeah I think the reason he's so unbelievably strong and can go in and out of all his forms so quickly without breaking a sweat is because he's already awakened. If he awakens to go even further beyond then that's just gonna be insane I think. It could be possible, but I really do think he already mastered his fruit long ago and that's why he's the WSC

Hybrid Yamato was supposed to be able to stall a full powered Kaido.

We just need a panel or page where Kaido goes back to his homicidial drunk mode and either him or Luffy says that's his awakening
+ we barely see his Homicidial Drunk mode due to CP0 interrupting the fight

Luffy is winning alone guys...lol

He's literally on his last legs. As is Kaido. If anything happens with Kaido and powering up or using a trump card, it's gonna happen with Luffy and in the next 1-5 chapters before he loses.

The other strawhats have nothing to do with this fight.

not to confident in this like i can see luffy getting some kind of win but with awakenings at play its not gonna keep kaido down either way i wouldn't just toss aside a strawhats vs kaido matchup all of them are up and okay besides zoro

Here's what I think, if it's not a new form, it's just the concept of transforming whenever you want and whoever that is Awakening for Zoans.


Marco and King for example, both can just partially transform their wings and still be human. To me that sounds like awakening, i.e. "when the body and mind catch up to your devil fruit"

Kaido has shown 5 forms basically:

- Dragon
- Dragon/Hybrid "Hybrid" (to mimick Snakeman's speed in 1042)
- Hybrid/Dragon "Hybrid" (his buff dragonlike hybrid shown in 1037/1042)
- Basic Hybrid
- Ogre

Again, this is just based on observations with his forms, he does have 2 odd transformations when it comes his Dragon/Hybrid forms. He can easily use all of his mythical powers, etc.

Now compare that to Luffy, it makes sense to an extent that they are both achieving the same thing, it's just that Kaido is far more used to using it all the time and why young pirates like Kid/Law/Luffy aren't. Same goes for Doffy, Marco, Kata and King being older men (if we consider Marco/King to also be doing the same thing).

We need to stop taking an old-pre-timeskip definition of awakening and just follow the one Kaido has stated this chapter....

"When your body and mind catch up to your devil fruit, that is awakening"

Nobody has ever overshadowed Luffy's fights guys. The arc is almost over. This is the climactic battle.
