Wish the unconfirmed spoiler saying ashura and izo death is not true..
Ashura plot was quite impactful for the story progress..like the vs oden, vs jack & kaido, vs kinemon & inuarashi..if he is truly dead, that was a poor way to kill him though..
Izo was quite ok and have strong characteristic, with his whitebeard's background, marineford screen time, and that brotherhood bond with kiku..killed by offscreened fight with lack of screen time cp0 is also pathetic..
As a supporting char, if they need to be dead for war plot purpose is actuallt ok..but seems they deserve better glorified death scene isnt it.. :(

No, we’ve just got more of a realistic understanding of how things work.
If Netflix and Shuiesha have met up and decided that they want Oda to be in South Africa on a certain date to promote the live action, then the money talks and he’ll be there regardless of what point in the manga we are at. There’s only a set window where the cast and crew will all be gathered together to film before they separate, and if part of the deal is that Oda is there for that moment then he’ll be there. The manga can be written at any time, the meetings can only happen at certain times.
It has been patently obvious for years with Oda’s Jump Festa messages that they do not have every chapter storyboarded out months in advance.
